It seems like a better selection for placing/selling could be incorporated. Say, 2 buttons that stand for buy/sell size/configuration. Box, Box&fill, checkered, box&checkered, single, etc. Alternatively an easier one would be click & drag letting you do any NxN block quickly. Several times i've filled part of the screen with cylinders, and then want to clear them to change the type, or upgrade my cooling mechanism and i have to do it all manually.

Example of current: Cores with reflectors, heat outlets with vents directly. Sometimes combining with heating the reactor using inlets. Can also make the reactor pulse with inlets combined with coolant cells and exchangers, but doing that is inefficient *primarily* due to the inefficiency of having to use cells for exchangers. In anycase you can optimize the number of vents vs. the number of capacitators, and find the intersection where the combined cooling is the largest. Usually what happens is that you build something like 108 vents with 21 outlets, 36 reflectors, 25 cores and 114 capacitators, but that depends on which upgrades you've selected and which cores are you currently using. Note though is that no inlets, exchangers, coolants, plating is required. A couple of plates can be used when core number is high enough to support the inlet heating, wastes a couple of cells in itself and requires extra cooling. It wouldn't require extra cooling with dynamic components though.

Anyway I recommend looking at systems like these which could make the reactor designing more interesting, and allow complex devices. Currently simple devices outcompete complex devices.

And in addition to this you could make switches. Switches which start when core is cold/warm and alter the function of neighbouring cells. Or based on the heat of teh neighbouring cells themselves. You could create multiple types of switches, basically there's condition, and once the condition is met, the switch disables a structure to a given direction or a combination of directions, or all directions.
This could be combined with an improved reflector design. Basically you could have the reflectors be considerably more effective than they're now, but also increase the heat production of the reactor. The switches could then be used to reduce both power and heat generation by disabling the reflectors. Inlets and outlets with dynamic designs could also be used to make the reactor core pulse, so that it heats up and cools down in a cycle, which produces spikes of power with the fission feature.

I'd also like to suggest adding dynamic components. Such that alter their function quantitatively or qualitatively based on their heat or the heat of the surrounding cells, or the abstract core. For an example a heat inlet which would reduce pumping percentually when the abstract core heats up percentually would allow a very easy method of creating a reactor that operates while heated. Perhaps even too easy. Other possibilities you can consider along these lines is an alternative version of each device which changes it's function based on heating. For an example, you could have exchanger type II, which would speed up when heated, adn exchanger type III which would slow down when heated. This would allow controlling the spread of heat, but it still doesn't make exchangers actually worth building. The same can be done with outlets, alternatives which increase or decrease pumping based on reactor heat or the cell heat itself.

Currently the reactor temperature is an abstraction. I'm fine with that, I like abastractions in general. But it might be possible to create a concrete reactor temperature, in which the cores heatup, and produce more power due to the forceful fission upgrade. And you could also add automatic heat transfer between cells, something similar to the exchangers, this might then create interesting possibilities like 2 cores next to each other, heating each other up, as well as gradually heating the surroundings. That in turn could be met with having to actually wall in the cores with the plating, to prevent the heat from spreading.
Currently it's possible to heat the abstract reactor using the red inlet pumps, but this also adds a load on the outlets, reducing the efficiency of cooling, but the fission upgrade can allow reactors with a large number of both cores and vents to make up for the difference with the increased power generation.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In the prestige system the double heat, power upgrade is redundant due to the protium cells. You wouldn't want to double the heat consumption of protium cells when their upgrade does the same.
I'm anticipating, partially based on comments speaking of melting the reactor, that once you've accumulated a sufficient number of exotic particles there's a method that allows spamming the cores. I don't know exactly, but I'm guessing it has to do with the core upgrades being 4x. That's the only way to make the core upgrades comparable to capacitator or vent upgrades, which only double efficiency. However as the upgrades doubling in cost I think the core can catch up by a factor 2 at best.

Please correct me if I'm getting this wrong since I've not really fully explored the possibilities of the prestige system: It appears to me that it's not sensible to attempt and cool the extreme capacitator, as with the protium cells it's possible to achieve very high ratios of power to heat, and so the extreme capacitator's 50% conversion ratio is insufficient.
Also for the most part it seems that the heat exchangers are suboptimal. Heatexchangers are a net loss to the reactor. Each vent, core, capacitator produces something, but the exchanger doesn't do anything. It seems it's more efficient to avoid using them entirely.
Forceful fission feature is one of the most important features with some dynamic potential. I find it interesting to create reactors which run at a certain temperature to increase the overall power production rate.

It's awesome to be able to replace used rods pressing SHIFT and all, any chance of adding a CTRL+SHIFT to replace rods of one type with another?
Takes the tedium of replacing them all one click at a time.

Hey dev! Would you give us an option to show how much load our components are under (a calculated one, the acual one flicks up and down so fast)? Like a switch to show heat load % on each component. Like if I have uncooled cells dispensing heat into the reactor and extractors surrounded by fans I can't really tell how much load they are under before they build up heat and explode (which happens really damn fast with the last experimental fuel tiers). The only way at this time is to make one of the cooling units bulky by adding some exchangers and monitor their heat levels but I find it unreliable.

So I finally broke the game (had I read the comments, I would have found out sooner). I'm stuck at 27,361,438,809,001/27,116,659,802,112 Exotic Particles (yes you read that right, I have more then what I should have), I cannot gain any more, though it always says I can prestige for 9,223,344,920,194,973,696 Exotic Particles (that's 9 sextillion). All of my Prestige upgrades cost 27.487T Exotic Particles, save for the Refactored Protium upgrade, which costs more (though the 15 or so upgrades before that GAVE me exotic particles, hence I have more). The Protium rods no longer show any details, but they produce far more of everything then anything else ever could. The statistics screen is blank, probably because of all the nuclear fallout from filling an entire reactor with Quad Protium cells, then pressing the "cleanse" button. And, despite all this, I can still only barely handle a little over a Quad Nefastium cell, automatically, in a stable environment. Poop.

I love how the unlocked cell are not just bigger versions, but have their own trick. Though I'm not sure about the extreme capacitor, it generates way too much heat to be useful (as far as I can tell).

Not sure why, but when i refresh the page (or close it and open it later, everythings gone. Cash, Exotics, the Reactorbuild, everything. Inside the Unity ".upp" it seems like it starts from scratch while keeping the old data further up inside the file?
Help anyone? :(
Can't play this way.

I'm not entirely sure how it happened but after the most recent update happened my Exotic Particles Earned Next Prestige turned into -6954 and hasn't been going up (or farther down) since then. I would hate to have to reset the whole thing XD.

Suggestion: A save function to save a certain pattern. When the reactor blows up you can load/rebuy that pattern if you have the money, otherwise it just gets constructed from left to right - for example like if you change capacitors.

Suggestion to the High Scores: Add Total Heat Dissipated to it, or atleast the highest $/tick or something besides just Exotic Particles

You should test out parts that change upon exploding. Kinda like a switch. Because when I upgrade me fuel, occasionally even a single cell can send me way over the limit and destroy everything. But, if there was something like a heat vent, fuse that doesn't transfer energy until it reaches it's limit and breaks. That was, I can set up an emergency coolant flush just in case of emergency. Just a random idea.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I took the game to its absurd extreme. 39 levels of Refactored Protium used to fill the game board results in an explosion that I can only assume destroys the planet the reactor was on, as the statistics page is now blank and prestiging doesn't work - although the option is given, I don't wind up gaining the 9 quintillion prestige points that it offers me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The Bolshevik Muppet strategy (turn reactor into great big crater by filling it with advanced fuel just to earn prestige) still works - in fact it's gotten better, with Discurrium. I tried to fill it with quad Stavrium but couldn't afford it; still, my half-full reactor netted me 124 million prestige.

I think that there is a realistic premise to this game. It takes place in a future where humans travel the cosmos fueled by antimatter which needs massive amounts of energy to create, so a new and lucrative demand for raw power, being the future and all, lots of super heavy and exotic new elements will be discovered, but only exploited by the new demand for power, elements like nefastium and protium.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The prestige system seems a little off seeing as I can prestige for -1647 exotic particles... is this supposed to be? (BTW im using nefastium)

Suggestion. Shift+click replace as many cells as possible of a different type. Right now you can batch upgrade from single to dual and quad, but not from batch from single uranium to double Plutonium.

There seems to be a problem with Discurrium Cells.
The Double Discurrim gives 4xPower but 16x Heat. The single Discurrium Is awesome, works just as descripted: 4x power and 4x heat per tick. But the Double is giving 4^2 heat x 200T = 3.2 Qa heat. Please Fix that! Thanks!! Cheers

@gedanken_welten: open the game in a second tab, play around there... if it works, close the old one, if it doesn't, close the new one. The cookies will be updated from whichever one you keep open as long as you don't close them both too quickly.

How can one tell how close to the maximum heat outlet/vents you are? Right now I am pushing all heat through, but I have not idea how close I am to that maximum amount. Usually, I find out by adding something that generates too much heat and the whole thing collapses before I can push pause. My stats right now are 0/566Qa (15.2Qa per tick) with manual heat removal -100T (-56.6T per tick)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
can we get a exotic particles per min view? also, why does the game pause when you enter any new screen? (options, upgrades, status, etc...)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Protium cells should have a perpetual upgrade since they get used more quickly as you level them through prestige. There comes a time when I cannot keep up the placement with the depletion
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well. when i had the pleasure of overloading my reactor with the new cores, it overloaded my computer.... then wiped out my save data. i'm a little upset over that....

Please get offline-mode fixed, developers. Same with the exotic particle accumulations. We do not want negative numbers in that regard.
