Hmm, the only way to make more than about 4-5 B/tick (depending on upgrades) seems to be to switch out coolant cells like mad. Somehow it seems kind of pointless to me to be the braindead workerbee of a computergame. To me the interesting part is thinking of interesting combinations to make a most efficient idle reactor. To that end the game mechanics only offers combinations of fuel, plating and vents + one capacitator, everything else is just waste of space. The very limited vents seem to make double nef the end of the line for efficient builds, so plating about half the reactor and double cooling separate double nef fuels seems to be the best design (someone posted pictures, i tried triple cooling with less plating but ended up with one fuel cell less).

I think forcing people to purchase upgrades to increase the size of their grid would be nice. It'd add more longevity to the early game and maybe encourage people to build more interesting reactors to progress.

Most efficient TOTALLY NONIDLE build. Needs coolants to be changed every 2 or 3 minutes. over 80B/tick with 4 nefastium upgrades

1 Heat Outlet, 4 Ultimate Vents at 1.1mil each (4.4mil total), and 1 Quad Dolorium cell (Produces 4.166m heat per tick). Surround the Heat Outlet with the 4 vents, and place the Dolorium. Result: Fan on the right gains heat quickly and explodes. Fan on the bottom follows suit, slightly quicker. Fans on the left and top burst at almost the same time. This is due to the coding checking a square and pumping heat. Perhaps changing this so it checks each touching square, then begins pumping heat to any verified as Vents?

How about an option to allow the reactor heat to reach X amount before the outlets start pulling heat, this way we can use Fission without having to micromanage the reactor heat or be forced to use lower grade gear in our our set-ups so that heat can build up

Can you please make that after any update reactor game will automaticly pause? I'm anoyed of my whole reactor exploding after each update :(

How does the math work?
I can cool a double nefastium cell (+23M heat) with 2 ultimate vent (-11.5M heat) but if I use a ultimate cooler (+5M) next to a ultimate heat outlet, the vent explode.
It says that the heat outlet send 5M per adjacent component to each component so the vent should have 5M heat whitch is less than the 11.5M the vent can remove.
And where is the heat management now? The heat exchanger used to balance the % of heat in each component and the reactor but the heat outlet and inlet have flat values.

For now 4.3B idle build with Double Ne, no luck finding a Quad Ne idle build over 4.3B. Around 80B manual build also seems close to my limit.

Heat outlets currently pump heat into one random component. It should be distributed to all neighboring components instead.

Fans are never at maximum efficiency. Heat exchangers need to move the maximum heat the fan can hold without exploding. This way the fan is always removing heat at maximum efficiency.
Right now fans either explode, or are at 0% heat all the time.

I started up my game and my reactor immediately exploded... turns out the game got rebalanced, greatly reducing my maximum heat capacity. now I have to start all over...

Not sure if anyone has a better build currently but, I'll post screen shots here for the date-stamp. Time is currently 2:17am.
Build is generating 42.872B power per tick, with only two Nef power upgrades.

Whats the point of the inlet if it puts heat from an object into the reactor? Why not just skip the inlet and let the cells go straight to reactor in the first place?
Needs moving parts, like rails that can move cooling cells that reach a certain % of heat or the ability to specifically control how much the inlets/outlets move heat

This is the setup I have right now (http://imgur.com/a/48Qzt), but I honestly can't see any way to progress from here. Is there even any way improve on this? There seems to be a huge progress wall at this point. I might make the next nefastium upgrade (500T) after a day or so of waiting, if I'm lucky. I hope something is done to address this. I just feel like this game is, for an idle game, too short.

Could you make something like a display which shows how much heat all cells produce and how much it gets lowered or taken out of the reactor per tick?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Going along with some of the other comments, with the new build, I just don't feel like doing math to keep my heat consistently high without going over. It's only worth it to do no-heat reactors and just spamming a cell to max the heat before deleting it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
in the past, all the cells are emptied out after a upgrade so it won't blow up
(and costs refunded). is that not the case anymore?

I just lost... everything. Not a huge deal, sure, but it gave me an idea. I was left wondering which module was the 'straw that broke the camel's back.' So, how about a replay function that show's something like the last 30 seconds of play before a meltdown? Is that even possible? I hope so! I get frustrated with this game, but I always come back...

Have you thought about adding an overview page that shows the total heat produced by the reactor/tick? Because of the way heat increases it gets hard to do all the math mentally, and a nice "total overview" would make creating an efficient cooling system a bit easier.

Well, the update fixed my "stuck vents" problem.
davito: that was the most "opd" strategy even before the update: surround x4 nefastium with storage and sell the storage every 5-15 minutes
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well this game just got a little easier for me. I had the highest plating and banks back when they were 10mil each. Now they are 100bil each, and I still have all of the ones that I had before the update. I can now hold 192bil and have a heat tolerance of 52.5bil
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wow that's annoying apparently the changes resulted in an immediate nuke of my entire system and everything exploded. Sweet.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
New OP strat seems to be dump heat into storage and than just sell it, 50b cost for 1T heat. It does not return to the reactor when sold.

@CAEL: stop acting like a douche towards bringing up legitimate concerns with your game. The people making suggestion are bringing up very valid points and giving very good suggestions, and all you are doing is replying with smart a@@ responses. Grow a pair and take criticism and advice like an adult.

Switch to new patch, now I managed to run 45 Double on 48B heat, if only I figure out how to run more than 15 Quad on similar heat or more on less heat... Outlet might be a key, but maybe better get a bit more upgrade first...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@skrd. its been said multiple times. Shift + right click = remove all of that type.
Unless you have 50x different things should be fast to sell all.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
anyone got a high production quad nefastium setup that doesnt exploit the outlet bug that was patched earlier. im currently sat on a duo nef setup at only 6b/tick :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Whoa. I rebooted FF... and came back to a reactor that exploded instantly, even the heat shields. So much for trillions of dollars of equipment.
