it'd be nice if we could use heat to boil water, to create super heated steam, that get pressurised through a series of pipes, so that can be focused into a narrow but highly powerful jet of steam, which spins a turbine, in order generate more power. (this is basically most power-plants actually do according to the text books i had in high school and what my teacher said.)

@ Dev: Maybe you should put this link into the Description or directly into the game so new Player get some ideas of how to manage their Stuff.

Perhaps an option to respec that gives you more power per tick in %? Perhaps a completely different upgrade skill tree from respec currency?

I'm running 41 single nefastium cells in a diamond pattern with neutron reflectors. In total this generates roughly 8.7T power per tick with all heat bleeding off into heat vents. Thus, the system is completely idle but for the energy replacement every 6 hours or so. However, I believe I'm nearing the limit of what is possible on idle.
Even though I have 91 ultimate capacitors I am limited by the amount of power they can sell. If I produce any more power I have to click to sell power every few seconds. The next upgrade for the capacitors is set at 500QA, with only a minor increase which I have to wait about 1h45m for.
So..the end?

The most interesting and fun idle game i've played, the only problem rests with the upgrades that seems weak and great part of them dont really help to much, people are having problem in understanding how does the reflector works too.

Endgame is a little bit frustrating. I'm able to build enough cells and vents to get a income of 40T/tick and more. But since the Capacitors were so drastically nerfed they are unable to handle that amount of money. Actually my reactor room is 80% filled up with capacitors, and they can't handle even my 26T/tick income. Only 22T/tick. And next upgrade will cost so much i would have to sit the hole day there and hit the "Sell" Button 10 times per second. Please make the capacitors hold and sell more Power again, or make at least the upgrades stronger or cheaper. Thank you for that interesting game 5/5

Are there any plans for an offline mode? I'm at the point where I have to wait at least a day before I can earn enough money to do anything, and I'd rather not have to leave the game open 24/7 in the background.

Well this is pretty great. I have it set up where I have a giant block of 13x7 quad-core uranium fuel cells all slapped next to each other and im using two arrays of T2 heat vents and plating heat sinks to pull all the heat out of the reactor (~16k worth) and then vent it away. I have no vents adjacent to any of the uranium, it is all through the reactor's plating.
Also upgraded capacitors and the uranium a ton so at this point it is idle-capable at 12k/t (at 3x tick rate, as well). I'm pretty proud but it is probably nothing compared to T5 and its quintillion costs..

Probably bug

Whenever two or more heat outlets on the field, the heat distribution oscillates among those outlets - neither evenly nor round-robin distributed. If unlucky one outlet receives full heat in successive ticks the vents went melt. It might be better to distribute the heat evenly/weighted between those outlets by their level/heat capacity or something?

@Mbode3 Plating affects the vents' max heat held before they melt (as well as your reactor's max heat, of course). Capacitors increase the vents' actual efficiency.

another concept i've been thinking of is doing more with power. i think some elements should require power to function, which would be deducted from the total that you can bank/sell. also, it seems that excess power that you generate but can't store or get rid of should be returned to the reactor as additional heat.

the perfect system btw (for the yellow-tier at least) is a pair-block green next to a single yellow which is surrounded by deflectors, the heat is 1.3k but the energy nearly 4x the energy! and this is only slightly less energy/heat then the double yellow, so, MUCH cheaper per money unit.

http://gyazo.com/630dc195eb19539b63b053c5a8851952 my current design if i am going to let it idle(you don't need that many capacitors) also can remove the lower left area to play around with ideas while still generating cash

I would really like to see an option or maybe an upgrade that sells power automatically, its really boring to keep pushing that button to sell power over and over again.

This is an AWESOME game, but there are a few things that I recommend. First, heat inlets/outlets NEED to be upgradeable, and be able to scale with vents/heat exchangers. Second, at the beginning of a game or when you reset, it would be cool to be able to pick some grid sizes. Third, the Infinite replacement should be way cheaper, I don't want to wait till I'm dealing with quad thorium to upgrade to infinite plutonium replacements. Fourth, there should be a way to reverse time, maybe up to 100 ticks? I don't want to have my factory blow up because I experiment with Seaborgium too soon, it's really frustrating. Finally, ticks/second upgrade should be cheaper, also there should be some way to scale it from 1 tick/second to your highest possible number of ticks/second. That said, this is me nitpicking, and this game is still amazing. It's difficult, but you feel a sense of accomplishment from it. Still definitely a 5/5.

BTW, I love the game, it's really a good concept. But that bug or whatever it was that made me lose over 100T of equipment and leave me with 1T, that sucks. Yet 5/5

so... I had a good system. I produced a lot (about 20 millions per second), and my vent system was great. As I wanted it to be even better, I decided to go to the upgrades tab, and there I saw I could improve my heat exchangers. That's what I did. As I went back, vents started exploding because of overheating, when they didn't for a while before the upgrade. The started exploding really fast and after spending over 6T on replacing them, i waited some seconds and they all exploded... Why if I "upgrade" sth, it got worst?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The maximum I seem to be able to get is 27.8T per tick with a hot idle. An active build doesn't even seem worth it because the amount of power you earn isn't much greater even when you're constantly swapping coolant cells. It's taking days to get the 50Qi needed to get my next upgrade, and that upgrade would only improve my power per tick by a nearly insignificant amount. There should be some kind of reset function where the game restarts, but you get some kind of boost based on the amount of power you've earned.

Erm... is heat on the Thorium Cells bugged? I had four quad Plutonium Cells with their heat sinked no problem, plenty of vents to deal with it. Put in one single Thorium Cell and the whole thing pretty much instantaneously exploded, meaning it put out. at the very least, 6k heat in a second (it was adjacent to a coolant tank) ... far more than the 7.4k/tick it states to.
Other than that... 'incident', fun game! Love it!

Athang, if the text is going off screen, check to make sure your browser isn't zoomed in or out. This is usually the cause of the problem. If you can't see the entire game without zooming, try pressing F11 to make your browser full screen instead.

So the "fission" upgrades increase the power output of cells depending on the temperature.. Would it be possible to get a module that activates/deactivates adjacent components based on reactor heat?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Gets a good setup of cooling with a single tier 2 setup. Think ok, lets add more, i have 0 heat and can hold 1.2k heat. Adds a single double uranium cell. Entire reactor, GONE!!!!!!!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It doesn't really bother me, but the text keeps going off the side of the power and heat buttons. You might want to fix that or at least make the text readable.

is it just me or is the infinity sign not doing anything for me? i know what its supposed to do, it just isnt replacing cells on either setting even though i have enough money. Help anyone?

I have been playing it for a bit and my reactor is pretty advanced. I was sitting here wishing I could shut down (SCRAM) the reactor so that I could let everything cool off, re-design and then re-start the reactor. This would allow me to see how my new cooling design works as if the reactor just started instead of having to contend with current reactor temperatures. Just a thought.
