@Kohlenstoff i had that problem, too; blew up my reactor several times an did some tests afterwards. until now, my reactor is fine with only one plating; there seems to be only a small percentage of your heat production needed for buffering. i tried it with pause/play, placing new cells at the same time and placing them one after another - no trouble yet.

Of course, that's if you try to do it all in one run. If you space it out, you only need to get 5 runs of 1k EP, or 10 runs of 500 EP, etc

I know I would personally like to see an option to add a perpetual reflectors to the game, so the designs that rely upon them can go continually without need for player interference every few minutes to hours.

For those of us trying to math out how much power/heat we have to take care of to earn 5k EP, it's 12,502,500 Qadrillion, or about 12.5 Sextillion (since we start the triangular progression at 1 Quadrillion).

hey, could you maybe add some upgrades for cells that make them go faster (they have less durability but more power and heat gen) I know that improved chronometers already does this, but I was thinking of individual cell types, just an idea (also, maybe make improved chronometers have some kind of slider to slow down time for system testing purposes)

Maybe instead of exchangers dispersing heat among itself and adjacent parts, they could detect paths to vents first, and put as much heat in them as the vents can remove per tick, and then direct towards any inlets, then start storing heat in themselves. I dunno if this is possible, but I'd like my exchangers being a little smarter than "I'm gonna put heat into all the things!"
Also, maybe we could see how much our vents are getting per tick?

this game if fun to paly but when i have to restart the game it gets annoying because i have to change computer some what frequently and we need a import/export setting so that we can take the game along with us and

hey i cant figure how to get my game to transfer cus i dont want to have to restart everytime i paly on a diff computer

does "dissipated" mean anything that goes through vents or plating or does it have to go through the reactor (so does the heat that a vent next to a power cell vents count towards earning particles)?

A small thing i would like is if you could close a tab på clicking again on its button, for example if i click "updates" and just wants to check if i can afford something and then close it again fast, then clicking on the same button to return would be nice. Otherwise i like the new ui and the game in general

cazaan: maybe you should think again about the reason of the platings. There is still the sudden reactor explosion phenomenon on game start, unpause and fuel installation which occurs on outlet cooling system reactors, when the maximum reactor temperature is lower than the heat per tick.

The infinity button enables/disables the automatic replacement of depleted fuel cells, provided you have the research for it. The research options have the same icon next to a fuel cell.

Why is there a forceful Fission ? I dont get why anyone would want to keep heat and how to make the amount of heat into the reactor stable to a certain value. So for me that update is completly useless. Hope im mission somethere there.

so here is my 5-quad-nefa build for 18.672 heat: http://i.imgur.com/jij67xK.png?1
--- vent upgrades 9/9 --- quite similar to the one of kohlenstoff, but higher power output because of reflectors and less vents.

Probably a dumb question, but what does that infinity button under the pause button do? I cant seem to figure it out.

Message to Developer: I cannot no matter how hard I try get the nefastium cells heat under control. I think that you need to add one more upgrade to; Capacitor(500T) That would up the power by XTrillion, reflector (5B-50B) Refects 60Billion , !VENT!(350T) Lowers the heat of its self by 1trillion, !exchanger!(275T) Transfers (500B-1T)?, inlet(270T)Takes 500b and outlet(270T) takes 500B, coolant (1Qa)holds 500 Trillion, and plating(700T)Increases max heat by 2.5 trillion. P.S. If you like this idea help get it to the dev. by +ing it!!!!!!

Okay this is the second time my reactor explode and i don't know why. I did build 15 Heat Outlets, each with 4 adjacent Vents, a ton of capacitors to reach a cooling power of 8,439 T/tick. So next i place one! double Nefastium cell between 4 reflectors, press play and .. BOOOM! Same happen to me today morning, same build, but one single protium cell. Boom! again. What am i doing wrong? Yesterday evening this build did run perfect.

I dont quite understand the rationale begind picking the lower of heat/power for prestige points. after all, the purpose of the game is to minimize heat and maximize power and what you can buy reflects that.

if you are sick of calculating for new builds my OpenOfficeCalc sheet might help you: http://workupload.com/file/TSDtvXR4
it's neither perfect nor beautiful and a language mix, but you should be able to deal with it. red cells require your input. enjoy!

Comment for everyone posting high end builds screen shots, could you list your lvl of upgrades you have to get that far? been checking out a couple of the builds I've seen and won't work for me I don't have the upgrades. Would be nice to know how far I have to go to make some of these.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ Kohlenstoff: i think you have both venting upgrades on lvl 9 to make your builds work; should be mentioned :P
You could even replace some of your platings by reflectors; i use only one plating for 4 quad nefs and it works (don't ask me why, i think it has something to do with balancing the heat outlets when your heat production changes, but only a small buffer is needed).

My most efficient heat dissipating reactor with protium: http://i.imgur.com/i5wJmP0.jpg It dissipates 18,3 T heat per pulse. And with pure nefastium it dissipates even 18,67 T heat per pulse: http://i.imgur.com/L7g9zED.jpg The power output is with 31 T also quite nice for a nefastium reactor.

Bug? report: I generally leave the game open over the day, but at night I shut my comp down. If I forget to pause the game before I close it, my cells get depleted but I don't get power. That just happened to me with 36 half lifetime remaining Nefastium cells: I stayed at about 500Qa from evening to morning, but the cells got depleted.

And with the 2 algorithms, We can see that 2 Quad together, making 40x power and 200x heat, creates much more heat than just doing 4 Separate Quad cells, making 48x power and 144x heat.

The algorithm of power (As far as I've tried) Per Cell Grid is b(c(c+p)), where b is base power of the single-cell version of the cell, and c is the number of cells in that cell grid. p is the pulse received (read help about pulses), regardless of cell tier, divided by the pulse the cell grid gives. The algorithm of heat is similar but with b being the base heat and the (c+p) squared. For example, A Double cell with base power/heat 1 touching A Quad cell with base power 150. The Base power 1 cell produces 1(2(2+(4/2)))=8 power and 1(2(2+(4/2))^2)=32 power, and the Base power 150 cell produces 150(4(4+(2/4)))=2700 power and 48600 heat.

Quantum buffering should buff the "effectiveness of vents/exchangers" effect as well. Otherwise it's pretty much worthless unless you make a passive-cooling build.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Tyler: Heat is usually not stored anywhere before dissipated; my vents are working fine although their heat capacity is far lower than their dissipating ability. before the last update was released, my build was running fine with 1k heat capa. now it's running fine again with 1.69T heat capa and i am producing almost 15T heat! i could even erase my single plating and everything would be fine until i place a new cell. to cut a long story short: if you're cooling passive, your heat is not buffered in the reactor.

I can't figure out where to see your current number of exotic particles in the new UI... everything else looks great, though! I love the buttons for the tabs to replace the next/previous ones!
