Can someone explain the heat output is quadratic to me? Does that mean if I place 2 2 heat producers, while it says i produce 4 heat, in reality 16 heat is being produced? (2x2x4=16)

I wish the higher tier you went in the cells, the better the ratio of energy to heat. At the moment, even with all the upgrades, the lower cells are more efficient than the higher cells.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the heatsink upgrades are overpowered, and makes everything irrelevant. I'd suggest re-balancing it to match the level of the tier's vent

Can you please add a clear board button? When I want to reorganize a complicated board it is quite frustrating to right click every piece. If you are concerned about an exploit you can block the button while fuel cells are present.

Good game, excellent idea, just really needs to be balanced. The lack of a real enemy besides the heat really works well with the fact that it's an idle game, since it's basically the users fault when it happens.

I loved the game at first, but after a while it gets repetitive... there's like no reason to keep playing, you only get to buy more expansive cells to produce even more power to gain even more money to buy more cells. I know it would require a lot of work to add more features to the game... but it would make it more interesting to keep playing. Anyway, I'm just giving feedback! It's still a cool game, it reminds me of Super Energy Apocalypse a bit, which I really loved as well.

Another idea that would be cool to have implemented: A total heat counter that shows how much total heat is distributed throughout.

So as far as I can tell there's no need to ever get anything hot, nothing ever needs to go adjacent to the reactors does it? This makes a lot of things sort of useless.

Apparently if you buy the upgrade for Thorium cells (first 2x time limit) and then refresh the page you lose it and can't purchase it again.

There needs to be an explanation that "right click" = sell. I'm use to playing Flash games where right click has no functionality (or mobile games).

Has severe balance issues. Ultimate reactor plating effectively reduces more heat than Ultimate Heat Vent, but for 1/500 of the price. There's no reason to put any components immediately next to reactors. Basically you just stack them all off in a corner to achieve the same result. Most of the components cost 100x the price to achieve just 10x the effect. This makes it really difficult to support late game reactors at all. Low level reactors give the most bang for your buck when you upgrade them to hell.
The autosave seems to be really lame. I went AFK for a few hours, only to load to where I was before my reactor had produced any money. This needs a fix, or a manual save option at least.
I love this concept; it's just a shame this game is somewhat broken and flawed.

Echoing what's been said here; given the upgrades that let reactor plating vent heat, heat vents and heat exchangers are useless. There seems to be room for four more upgrade trees on the screen, so I'd recommend one for heat vents (doubles the heat dissipation of the vents), one for heat exchange (doubles heat transfer), and one for component durability (doubles the heat that components can absorb before melting). That would make the vent/exchange/coolant system actually worthwhile (and able to keep up with the scarier fuel cells), and leave plating where it should be, as a mediator between the exchangers, and not the totality of your containment solution.

Why is "idle" associated with this game. i need to constantly hit the sell energy button or else i will lose all of my money even with %energy sell per second. You can't idle like at all lmao.

--- Vents need upgrade :D ---
After tier 2 building vents become useless, since building platings (with first heatsinks upgrade) is much more cost effective. Vents get even worse on higher tiers (125000 dollars per heat lowered at tier 5) but platings stay same efficient (100 dollars per heat lowered at all tiers) and get even better with more heatsinks upgrades. On top of it you don't have to care about heat distribution like with vents.

Firstly i gave 5/5, cos game is awsome. Then i found major inbalance.
Best cooling is... reactor plating +% venting. 1% from 1M = 10k. That is 25% of best heat vent for 10M instead of 5B. And, soon it will be not 1, but 5%, so it is much better.
But, anyway- great idea for game!

Nice concept but it is way too easy make a mistake and wipe out all of your progress. I can accept fuel cells exploding but making so that everything on the screen does takes all the fun out of the game.

Can you add sorta a component that fits over other parts and replaces it whenever it is either destroyed or runs out. Sorta like setting a tile to restock?

Was this inspired by the reactor system of the Minecraft mod IndustrialCraft 2? Because it seems very similar to it.
Not that this is a complaint, I like IC2.

Finally, does this game have an offline/speed up function? Because a max-upgraded Nefastium cell apparently will last for over two months real-time...

Suggestion: Could you make the reactor's explosion a separate color than the other buildings, every time I see the explosion I keep thinking something went horribly wrong .-.

1. Buy only Heatsinks, Power Lines, Wiring upgrades
2. Build only Reactor Platings and Capacitors
3. Build the right amount of Cells so heat does not increase
4. Repeat
5. Break the game very fast
Dev fix this trick! :)

Also, a possible typo: Ultimate Neutron Reactor only reflects 200K particles. Based on the trend, it should reflect 2M. Right now, it only reflects 14% more particles than the Wonderous reactor but costs 10x as much.

The math for adding the amount of cooling a fan adds to the reactor assumes that it will be hooked up to a network of pipes that deliver heat to it. If I add ONLY fans, the actual cooling is half of what is advertised. If I may suggest a change: Only increase the total amount of cooling when it is going to be used. For example, if an advanced heat vent is not hooked up to a pipe, it only gives 20 heat reduction to the reactor, but the reactor says it gives 40. Maybe a quick boolean check to see if it's adjacent to a pipe could fix this.

Bug: When I reload the game, cells that are already in the grid from before I loaded last MUCH longer than cells I place afterwards. The new ones only last a few seconds, even though before I reloaded when I placed them they lasted as long as the ones already in the grid are lasting.

Investing in the Iron/Silver/Gold/et cetera Heatsinks upgrades makes Reactor Plating a much better option than Heat Vents - not only are they more cost-effective, but they also can't overheat. Heat Vents probably need some sort of major buff to make them a more worthwhile option to compensate for requiring actual planning.

... fans become obsolete mid game and the 10m plating becomes even better then 50b fan. Unless I am not understanding something why not just fill the screen with cells and plating?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Balancing needs work. Ultimate Heat Vent provides a total of 40K cooling for 5B. Ultimate Reactor Plate with Silver Heat Sinks provides 40K of cooling for...110M, and every 40K after that costs only 10M.

Guide: Don't link your components. It seems like a good idea at first, but the heat generated makes it not worth it. Instead, you should just fill up the board with the cheapest fuel cells with spaces between them so they don't overheat. Reduce heat using storage+upgrades rather than vents/exchangers/coolants (those are utterly useless). And only use stronger fuel cells when you run out of space and have enough heat storage.
