Under rating threshold (show) Currently the biggest limiting factor is Heat exchangers, best model exchanges 231.48k. To offset 1 of the Quad Nefastium Cells you would need 450 exchangers. You can only fit 8 around a Coolant Cell nested Quad Cell, exchanging 1.851m of the 104.166m it creates.

Under rating threshold (show) Serinorah: Using quad nafestium cells is not efficient to use if you use cooling cells. First reason: Their power:heat ratio is low. While I am using single cells I get 5 power per 1 heat created. With quad cells it's not more than 2 power per 1 heat. Second reason: The quad nafestium cells generate way too much heat, that the coolant cells are filled pretty quickly. So you pay 1T cash for a item that is suppose to last 1 (or more) days, while it wouldn't last more than 2 hours, that's a waste. Also, to clean up the screen, it's very easy, just remove all reactor plates, and put a low tier Cell in the reactor. It will overheat, and everything is gone. Then start building again.

Under rating threshold (show) The bug with the reactor plating upgrade really limits this game because, after a certain point, you reach a point where you can't use higher-end rods without reducing your total income or using coolant cells, and if you are using coolant cells and forget to check your game every hour or so, everything will blow up...

Under rating threshold (show) Also, it would be awesome if physical location would matter more. For example, heat exchangers could transfer heat between adjacent components much faster rather than between itself and reactor.

Under rating threshold (show) @lokeli in the upgrades down at the very bottom left that path will automatically sell 1% of your max energy per upgrade so once fully upgraded(will take quite a while) you will automatically sell 6% of your max energy. but i do agree it takes quite a bit of work to get to the point where you can idle especially if you have to learn how everything works first

Under rating threshold (show) reading thru the comments it is pretty obvious that an expanded tutorial should come soon. a lot of people do not understand how the heat exchangers balance the heat percentage between all available sources (itself the reactor and the vents) so that it will actually keep your reactor temp at the percentage that a vent takes out of its own heat. for example, assuming you have more than enough heat exchanger power and your hypothetical vent can hold 100 heat and get rid of 25 per tick your reactor will stay at about 25% heat capacity

Under rating threshold (show) I'd love to have heat exchangers that you can toggle the flow of heat. Being able to make one heat flow only towards fans would make for much more stable designs.

Under rating threshold (show) Yes using cooling cells get you more money, as I mentioned before you can run the quad nefastium cells with replacing the cooling cells every hour and a half, but without a sell all it gets horribly tedious using the cooling fans just allows you to come in replace your cells real quick and then go back to doing something else. Once the heat sink upgrade thing is fixed and balanced so using higher plating is worth it then our designs may change again but right now it just depends on how much time you want to dedicate to replacement.

Under rating threshold (show) Anyway, if electrical energy would be created by turbines between places of different heat level, the greater the difference you can create, the more energy you get, the game would be way more interesting insetad of power being generated by some "magical" intrinstic property. With the same basic problem reactors have, as soon something goes wrong with the energy-creating, heat dispersing system the whole thing goes booom since you cannot turn it off anytime you'd wish to.

Under rating threshold (show) Yeah if you can afford that many of those cells. I am not sure how 2 cells together or reflector really work. With that I mean how much power and heat is gain from doing it. Anyway I can't really do anything like that, because as it is now, it requires 3 coolant cells to survive a single Nefastium cell. My cell lasts for 2 days, which is a lot. It generates about 500B heat in total. To absorb that heat, I need at least 3 coolant cells attached to 1 nuclear cell, or else it melts down. Not that it's bad if it melts down at the very end of it. I mean when coolant cells are nearly full, their value drops, and all other parts are barely worth anything. So even if my reactor melts down after 1.5 day, it wouldn't be a big deal. And with that, you can say it's pretty 'idle' as well. Just build once, comeback after 2 days, and rebuild. If that isn't idle enough for you, then I don't know what is.

Under rating threshold (show) it does not HAVE to be nefastium cells, you can use any cell with a decent power production, you would just spend more time between replacements

Jan. 26, 2015

Under rating threshold (show) Ah ok, I get what you're doing there. But this kind of Build is only really viable in the end game with Nefastium Cells.
