Switch to new patch, now I managed to run 45 Double on 48B heat, if only I figure out how to run more than 15 Quad on similar heat or more on less heat... Outlet might be a key, but maybe better get a bit more upgrade first...

Whoa. I rebooted FF... and came back to a reactor that exploded instantly, even the heat shields. So much for trillions of dollars of equipment.

What are all these transferring heat to and from the reactor components for? They only take space away that i need for plating, vents and fuel. They only shuffle heat around, but i need to get it *out*. Also they transport less heat than vents (in a heavily plated reactor) manage. And why would i want heat inlets? Putting the fuel without adjacent cooling in the reactor will do the job better and less space intensive.

Heat exchanger become pointless once you hit Tier5 as its low efficiency and cooling effect to reactor (Fission bonus), so do coolants(due to exchanger), nice idea, need more balance. 4/5

Maybe it's the far-distant future. Hyper-inflation has run rampant, but uranium is laughably inexpensive due to some radioactive meteor and people just can't burn up the stuff fast enough.

@proteus. Even though each of your vents can 2.752 per tick the heat from the dolorium is spread across all 4. So each will remove 1.04 each. Whilst you are correct that it shouldnt cause a net heat of the reactor if you chain multiple of these together it will. one quad on its own with 4 vents as you described would not.

even more upsetting is a system where a quad dolorium saying 4.166M heat/tick surrounded by four ultimate vents that should remove 2.752M/tick results in a net heat gain in the reactor...
2.752*4=11.008
nearly 3 times the heat eliminated ...

For all those who are commenting saying they want some kind of warning when they log in after update or pause, it wont make a diff. If its paused first thing you are going to do is unpause, then boom!
Even if you had full grid of most expensive item that you can recover you could only get back 30T. Since after a big update chances are you are going to have to redesign losing up 30T isnt that much. Even if you had entire grid of quad nef its max 300T loss, and lets face it most people will need to remove all those anyway to redesign so you lose it anyway

The Endgame could be improved. I am sitting with all the upgrades of 500T and less and I can build either the most efficient Idle(<100B/tick) reactors. Maybe I am just impatient but I do not want to wait 5M ticks(8+ days) to get an upgrade.

my concern is that an empty reactor with any size grid of exchangers and vents DOES NOT remove anything near the listed amount of heat from the reactor...
reactor with ~3B heat transfers only about 40K heat with nothing but one ultimate exchanger next to one ultimate vent...
ultimate exchanger is supposed to transfer 1.28M to/from the reactor and 5.12M to/from adjacent components
ultimate vent saying 2.75M from itself
my math may be off but 40K/tick from an empty reactor with components that should be eliminating 1.28M/tick seems like a rather large discrepancy...
please enlighten me...

So, with new loadout in hand, I create something somewhat good, its a reactor with half of the space of it just ultimate outlits surrounded by ultimate batterys, I already have 5 quad nesas, just need more for the journey!

Well, while the new updates destroyed my reactor, quad seaborgium wasn't working that well, time to see if I can make some quad nefa designs... already got like 8 hooked up to top tier batteries... hehe

28 double nefassium with 4 neutron reflectors each is the best i can do with only passive cooling. It will take me AGES to get last 2 nefassium power upgrades with this D:

I've bloody had it, I have bloody had it. Since the upgrade, all of my designs malfunction. I was running a design with two double plutonium rods, the heat was running at non existent levels, roughly between 0 and 100. I switch out for one quad plutonium rod and my reactor instantly overheats, explodes and costs me millions to fix.

I enjoyed playing this a tremendous amount. I am curious about the ratios used in the heat generation/dispersion. What I mean is that without any upgrades it only takes 8.8 Super Heat Vents to theoretically remove the heat generated in one tick by one Quad Thorium Cell which is possible to achieve with the Super Heat Exchanger. In order to do the same it would require 397.4 Ultimate Heat Vents to vent the heat generated by a single Quad Nefastium Cell in a single tick. There just aren't enough spaces to even imagine that happening. While it takes 9600 ticks for the Quad Nefastium Cell to produce enough heat to destroy one Ultimate Coolant Cell it only takes 2400 ticks for the Quad Dolorium Cell to generate enough heat to destroy a Wondrous Coolant Cell. The different tiers of items scale much differently than the different tiers of fuels, and the effective methods of heat management seem to change from manageable dispersal/removal of heat to wanton sacrifice of coolant cells.

The heat vents don't scale with the exchangers for the simple reason that if you had a vent that lowered heat by 2 mill/tick, and an exchanger that moved heat by 2mill/tick then you would never have the need for exchangers.

I don't understand, a quad dolorium cell puts off 4.166M heat, that I can vent just fine, but when I sub the quads out for a single nefastium at 2.893 heat, it blows the exchangers, bug?

A "Sell Everything" button would be awesome, so it makes things like redoing builds (especially when major game changes are introduced) much less tedious.

Having a lot of fun with this game! As a suggestion, though, perhaps all numbers should be displayed to 3 decimal places including trailing zeros. It's a bit distracting for the length of a text display to keep changing when it goes from, say, "Heat: 6.1M" to "Heat: 6.127M".

Lets use a computer as a basic example. The processor creates heat. The aluminum heat-sink rests on the processor, absorbing heat from the processor till they are balanced in temperature. A fan rests on the heat-sink, pulling air from Around The Heat-Sink to lower it's temperature.
The heat-sink in NO WAY knows what is attached to it. The heat-sink has NO ABILITY to move heat away from itself. The "Vent", or Fan in this situation, does not cool the heat-sink directly. Instead, it causes cooler air to flow through the heat-sinks troughs.

Couldn't the (-x per tick) at the reactor heat like REALLY show how much the cooling actually works? cause i see how much money is automatically converted from energy, but i have no ide of my total automatic cooling from the vents... which sucks. Knowing how much heat is automatically transfered by the exchangers would be great too. Great game otherwise, "fresh n cool" original concept. ;) 4/5

If you're going to make changes where items moving heat are altered - make it so the game starts PAUSED! So many players started their game today only to have it explode in their faces - not a good way to appease your player base. Billions - and for many, trillions - gone in an instant; that takes a lot of time to replace and earn back. Very rude dev ... very rude.

For the neutron reflectors, what does "pulse" mean? Is it tick or something different, because the one that's supposed to last 100 "pulses" only lasts a few ticks.
