Hmm I thought THELS were really useful in the last mission. Didn't even use any missiles just 4 lv 3 THELs 20 lv 3 Pulsers and 24 repair station ;). THELS take out the supership rather nicely and won't switch once engaged while missiles just keep targetting weak ennemies flying around thne the repair station keep all your pulsers alive and the pulsers kill the missiles and other things.

The only time THELs are semi-worthwhile is in the missions where all the enemies attack a single non-moving target. Even then pulse lasers would probably do the job better

I managed to find one of those aliens that fly the ships. He was looking like a fool with his pants on the ground! Pants on the ground! Gold in his mouth, hat turn side ways...

I can't believe what i'm gonna say but this is one of the best strategy games I've ever seen. I've to say that i don't really like this game, but it's very well done. Good work, really. 4/5

Yea, after 20-30 attempts, I got them with tons of missile towers 1st level, and 4 fully upgraded down the path so I wouldn't have to sell them (and more dmg), also a few intermittent pulsers and about 4-5 repair places. I just had to be careful to build at correct places. Then on crazy difficulty those two levels get really rediculous..

yea this game should be more focused at base protection and survival... u dont attack an enemy with your base, u attack with fighters. So in the next one allow us to build a starport or somthing

mission 6? on hard how plz help !!! im good i beat all th 1s before it but... i tried all tactics miners missles lots... lasers... its very annoying

I agree with hend, escort missions are pain inthe ass in this game. I cant even complete it in normal mode.
@ehev: is that so? but why do you only get "One Small Step for Man" Badge (5 point) if you've complete game on hard. lol ;p

sad thing is most of these levels are far too easy (even on "crazy") and as a result boring... if you buid a lot of basic towers (i mean like hundred or so) upgrade some to pulse to prevent rockets, nothing can get through.... only thing i have a problem with are Motherships (if there are really lot of them) and two final bosses... long and range towers are useless... :-|

natron, chill. because one person doesn't want cookies in their computer [most games use them to store info] doesn't mean kongregate shoudl kick them all off.
and that's most flash games on kongregate.
and Maxzwell, just make tons and tons of missile launcher things.

The Gide to beating all of the protect or defend missions is 3 Solar towers in a line. Then start spamming missle turrets everywhere. Build like 10 then upgrade to level 3. If you run out of money for missles sell a launcher.

missiles rule the world, especially in "escort" missions ("2/6" and "4/6"). pulsers take care of ring ships (and are sold when no longer needed), missiles do all the other job.

hate this CasualCollective game because use aggressive cookie; i don't want allow all cookies but with these i'm forced; kongregate should not host these games

I must be missing something, because I am not able to beat either of the "escort" missions on hard or normal difficulty. That is, "weapon 2/6" and weapon "4/6." I beat 2/6 on easy, all the rest on hard except "weapon 4-6/6" and final two-boss map. 80% complete when a bunch of motherships appear (on 4/6) right next to the ship and even if i'm able to destroy most of them they're always able to blow up the ship...

i found the last boss(es) too easy, as i had thousands of minerals left after massing the rocket launchers, and after i didn't really have room for enough, i upgraded them. then built a few pulse lasers to protect from missiles, and it became ridiciously easy.

THEL's are underpowered, missiles are overpowered, AI's seem very stupid [they ALWAYS come in mobs. Missiles wreck these mobs]. New weapons in sequel please?
The game isn't that hard [the first 3-4 mainstream missions are the hardest], i found the "extra" non-mining missions far too easy, even on hard [i havn't unlocked crazy yet], largely because all enemies came in thick mobs ready for destruction through missiles.
still a good game 5/5, but excluding the new type of non-mining starts + idea to guard mobile platforms, nothing new in the game itself. Still very good, but if sequels contain nothing new, this could get old.

When a game deprives you of freedom, and forces you to do a set of moves in an order, the game becomes ruined. This is terrible compared to the first one. You HAVE to do things a certian way on a lot of levels.

100 mothership appear, but only probably 1-2 will reach you and start firing before the EMP fires and they all stop attacking

Shakh -- I rarely use THELs, they're too brittle. Missiles are good against motherships, especially when they are fully upgraded, because the ships tend to clump, so you can kill all of them at once.

the things you buy without upgrades can be sold back at 100% cost. my method is to build an inner staight or circular core of solar stations and energy stations, then surround them and the mines with relay stations. when enemy attack from west, build basic lasers, then sell them off and rebuild the direction attack from. most of the time the enemy slowly rotates its attack, so you just build and sell to keep up with them.

The only real difficulty is that you cant order your THELs to target mother ships. they focus on small ships and you get overrun no matter how many you have (and I ha plenty :P)
