I love this game! It's graphics may not be the best, but it only makes the game better! The historical content is as right as it can be for a game and the gameplay is exiting and puts your tactical skills to the test!
Really good 5/5, A+, dicethrow 6 and 100% good!

I really wanted to give this a 5/5 for the historical context, the integration of battle strategy and mini-games, and the implementation of battle strategy such as charges and shield walls. The opening sequence, very reminiscent of Shogun: Total War, was also splendidly made. However, I am forced to give it a 4/5 because of serious flaws. Units not being able to attack (or flank) to the side is just silly and is a significant fault in gameplay mechanics. Also, the inability to make formations backwards (boar's snout) is ludicrous and belies a lack of forethought on the part of the developers. It's also unfortunate that in Campaign mode there is no option but to choose Vikings, then Saxons, then French...especially when army customization is already possible. All in all, this is a great leaping off point for a series of games, but by itself is just too lacking to deserve much fame.

AWESOME GAME !! though the campaign is sooo short ... if it were longer it would be a better game!! P.S add more types of armies

don't listen to the #1 comment for viking strategy! make two arrowhead formations and move them up. when the enemy is in charge range drop the first formation back so they wont be able to hit you. next turn (when you go first) charge with the second arrowhead formation. if all this goes well you should hit them with a triple charge because their troops are in the opposite of your arrowhead formation and completely obliterate them.

Ok. If you like a strong up-front fighting style, the vikes are the best. English are a kinda balanced all-round team, and Norman are the best for a flexible flanking style of play. (*hint Vikes use boars head up front with shield wall behind, Norman just a wall of knights and surround enemy formations) Hope I've been helpful!
