This game is all right, but it's hard to tell what the order of battle is. Also it doesn't tell you outright whether you can actually attack a particular unit or not, making it into a trial and error game. I just want my guys to go and hack at those other guys: tell me if they can or can't!

good game, but these are pathetic taunts. How on earth could an army take a morale hit just by being called a coward? At least make something more original!

When Charging Near the end of the first battle My shield wall with middle troops scared ran away while the rest kept charging past everything past Infinity. I'm guessing there was never a response script command for if the shield wall breaks up while charging?

Okay, a pretty good game, but so hard and it takes such a long time for the battles to actually end. Good concept, though. I give it a 3.5/5

Brilliantly done. Great GFX, SFX, gameplay, style, everything! I really did like this game a lot. Congratulations to the programmers! This game deserves some good recognition. 5/5!

I was wondering when this would show up here! This is fantastic, but very challenging. To win as the Vikings takes a good deal of know-how and a whole lot of luck. The reason why it isn't longer is that it is meant to focus upon one moment in history: The events surrounding the last Norse incursion into England, and the Norman invasion which followed later that year. As one who has studied this era extensively from a military perspective, I feel that it represents the warfare of the period fairly well. Archery is not terribly effective, and unit morale is shaky and prone to break unless the unit is in a shieldwall. Realistic, unlike many wargames these days.

I thought it was a pretty good game. I ended up using the taunt a lot which ended up helping in the first two battles, but with the normans I just used knights and archers.

Good concept, would really like this fleshed out. Work on the moral system though. Maybe use this with a longer lasting, more recent conflict, WW1 or WW2 maybe? Or the 100 Years War, if you REALLY like medieval conflict. All in all, decent game, just needed to be longer, and the moral system DEFINITELY needs retooling.

first impresion of this game looked good. then I played my first battle and had around 5 units at half strength, 50 morale to around 10. My general retreated for no reason, and then my morale dropped to 30, which made the rest of my melee retreat, which quickly ended with the rest of my troops. What the hell?

Well erm very good gameplay concept, though in my opinion you should develop this game, add more units, maybe more factions, but more opportunities to have a more... diversified game.

Brilliant game.. i loved the combinations of game mechanics and the history. there were a few minor things that could've been improved upon, but well done. Well done.

The Taunt Command is out of balance. I had annihilated the enemies front line, but somehow the enemy's command unit was able to whittle down my Morale from 88 to 40 by calling me a Fox Beard.

i saw this game during the summer of 09 on a diff site, glad to see it on kong :D
i think the only improvement would be faster gameplay...gets slightly slow if you replay the game

h, and everyone complains about morale and crap, but it doesn't do anything. Just for fun, my whole army was intact, I taunted one lone unit for 3 tuns, no morale loss. I had like two morale, my men still charged.
