for those of you who dont know, 1066 was the year that william, duke of normandy invaded england. The english in this game actually would represent the saxons, who lost and the normans won. this lead to a french ruller controlling england and thus the start of a beautifull powerstruggle for who controlled the thrones of england and france. The englash ended up controlling normandy for a while but they lost that in a campain in france.

I just defeated the Normans (playing as the Vikings) on Hard. These are the pertinent stats: Vikings Dead: 2142, Normans Dead: 1567; Vikings Fled: 239, Normans Fled: 3617. Thank you for a strategy game that involves actual strategy!

brilliant game, so much more in-depth that all the other strategy games...
although i still think the taunts are way to powerful.
Viking: "Rum-fed Chicken!"
Englishman: "AH! That Viking jsut called me a chicken! I MUST RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!"
English: "Toad-faced fool!"
Viking: "Meh, let's get back to the battle eh?"
English: "Coward!"
Norman: "Oh no, i'm losing the battle by 10 men. I MUST RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!"

First cinematic I've ever fully watched in this games. That says a lot of the makers quality. Thumbs up for you mister! :)

I had two units of archers, one warriors and one bodygurads of the king Harold Hardrada, while enemy had 1 Earls bodyguard unit. And guess what: They've taunted two times in a row, what made my king run away from the map. WTF?
5/5 anyways, great game. Improve the morale system and will be 6/5

Being a strategy-gamer, I had to rate this game highly for its superbly intricate strategy gameplay. Hell, even if you find Ancient History a bit drab, you can't help but find wonder in the "splatter-for-color" art themes and "hero" units. Best of all, it gives you a nice lesson about the Battle of Hastings in a historically accurate storyline (History buffs rejoice!). 5/5

If you make a game like 1066,but with a campaign where we get to choose the people we want to play as ,and conquer the world, then i think everybody would love it even more than 1066.Keep the battle mechanics as it is though.Couldnt ask for better :D.Anyone that thinks this idea is nice say so,so the developer can see it.

4dawin, just a tip, If your morale rating is below 60, you should restart the game and rethink your tactics. Another thing, a squad will only retreat from a taunt if they are already flashing pink, indicating that the group is nearly depleted in numbers. And if the group is blinking pink, you shouldnt charge them, as they will die in the initial charge anyway. Just saying.
