The unforgivingness wouldn't be bad except for the resource hogging causing lag right at the times it's worst for the player.

the checkpoints are a problem, yes, but they wouldn't be if for one detail. the relative slowness of your plane and inability to fly straight up ruin everything. yes, stalling is realistic, but its a flash game! not a flight simulator!

Game crashed after the first mission which was your standard unskippable tutorial for a game with simple controls.
I didn't feel like giving it another try.

a few things: if you can stall, enemies should be able to stall. Allies should maybe, oh I dunno, fire at enemies. maybe have a difficulty setting that you can change so that you can save for an easier difficulty and for the more intense players, the difficulty without the saving option and harder enemies or something I dunno. Enemies will stalk you until you are dead, because they can't stall yet again

So frustrating! 3/5. If it had a checkpoint I would give it 5/5. Stalling 1000 ft above the ground sucks especially when you are close to finishing a mission

There are some commenters that are try to give clever comments about why asking for checkpoints is equal to being sore losers. The argument is that you are trying to make it seem as realistic as possible. Shouldn't we all be trained fighter pilots then?

well i was on the second bomber set of mission 2 with th ebombers and one seems to have gotten outside the mission area, at 40k miles and counting and i can't chase it. So I have no idea what to do, the game won't end one way or another. The damn thing shoulda hit England by now!

Yes there is a lot of controversy that this game doesn't have any checkpoints. But if you read the description it says "Undergo the first hand pressures of a pilot"
Having no checkpoints makes it even more realistic and challenging.
In real life (during a dogfight) one wrong move, you could possibly just lose right then.

Wow this game looks like it is awesome. my only problem is the quality... Its to much for my computer to handle! i would like a quality control button. makes the game lag and get stuck sometimes i mean it doesnt bother me its just a little annoying

@Wakslo The dogfighters in WWII didn't get checkpoints, why should you? They didn't even get respawns either, maybe we should take that out too.
Seems in pretty poor taste, but I've always said if you have to think about whether to post it or not, do it.

I played from an autosave point - a mission. 2nd time playing, clicked CAMPAIGN and then CONTINUE. I could choose from mission 1 or 2. What's the problem with a 'checkpoint save'?

Sure it needs pause and checkpoint but u guys should think that this is an awesome game like 1066 pratically made by the same way (but better try this game guys XD)

Only problem is that damn stall. Its not really horrible; it lets you know to fly more cleanly, but when you're a couple hundred feet from ground, it's pretty much game over. I'm not even sure of the correct flying technique to ensure I don't stall. Other than that, pretty awesome, 4/5

Seems buggy. I destroyed the third enemy wave in mission 3, and... nothing happened. No more enemies. No indications on how to proceed with the mission.

this is a really great game, but with no checkpoints and some glitches, it becomes frustrating to play ): at one point kellet was like 10,000 ft away outside of the mission area.

Yes, I agree Checkpoints, AND a pause function. You don't how annoying it is halfway through a long mission and ya have to go to the bathroom -.-

btw: your AI sux - lures the nmy far away and then you have to enjoy the long trip
stalling + throttle kindof makes sense

i agree needs pause, health bar, speed indicator, higher ceiling cap(to dive down on planes), wouldn't hurt to have a gunner 3/5

Desperately needs pause or checkpoints (after every objective or fighter group?) or at the very least ENEMIES NOT LEAVING THE MISSION AREA. This has been the failure of mission 3.
Although it kinda fits in a fridge-logic kinda way. Once you get in that cockpit, you're up to the mission...and if the enemy gets clear of you they hit unprotected civvies.

ok wtf i was flying at a tiny angle not enough to stall and the enemy was in front of me and couldnt shoot me.... and i randomly crashed.... wtf?!

other than the checkpoints you could also make gliding possible for if you stall and you still to close to the ground.... i know that some people would like that feature
