@Yotsuba83 I understand your frustration with Unity's issues. And of course we all appreciate that you produced such a nice Idle game for us and are such a responsive developer to the Kongregate community. But my understanding is that the last stable version of Unity is 4.5.5. I believe this game uses a Unity version in the 4.6 range (as evidenced by the made with Unity 4.0 beta label earlier; but I could be wrong). If you are using a beta version of Unity, can you really blame Unity for all of the issues? Would the game not have had less issues if 4.5.5 was used, even if it did not contain some of the functionality you may be using for your game? Beta versions still do usually mean that the product can not be relied upon like a "release" version can (if it can indeed can anyway) and is still vulnerable to bug fixes and changes (more than in the maintenance part of the life cycle).

For some reason or another on my computer all sond starts crackling when the game is running, otherwise the game is great.
1. About how often is it intended for you to to Dark Night reset?
2. Any way to fix that sound issue?
3. Queen Catherine von Conqueror the Fourth needs fanart to show the world her glory!
Thank you for trying our game out! To answer your questions: 1: I recommend not resetting with any less than 100,000. 2: I regret to inform you that there isn't a sound issue so it might actually be your computer. However you can disable all sound in options and it stays off. 3: Yes please! I hope for this so much >_> <3 Taiga
If Unity webplayer is giving issues try to clear your browser cache and do the typical browser maintenance. The "error launching Unity Player" thing happens from time to time but it's a 'come and go' issue. I've had it happen a couple times over the last week but it never lasts forever. I wish I had control over what Unity's web player is doing because I actually care about my code being 'stable' unlike their development team but it's completely outside of my control. I can't express enough how frustrating, yet sorry I am to people who are having to deal with Unity's issues. All we can do as game devs is sit here and pray Unity decides making their web player 'stable' is important. Had I known, I would have never made the game using Unity in the first place. ~Taiga

Unity isn't working for me for some reason. Tried reinstalling and downloading but still says "Error launching Unity Player" :/ And I have played this game. I had 200k+ dark knight stored up (played for 2 days ish before the Unity problem that was fixed on Nov 7) and now cant get back. It started a few hours after the Nov 7 update

Hey unity isn't yet in the version needed for this game... so.. until unity upgrades or you downgrade we cannot play 2 stars for the game at current stage until fixed.
Umm how do we have almost 600,000 plays if people can't play the game? Look at the comments, does it look like people can't play it? Perhaps you should go to Unity and upgrade your web player. That will allow you to play the game. ~Taiga

to expand on @Greyfauxx 's point.
I ONLY buy gold producing items. period. By the time I feel like conquering anything the Cathedral has already given me way more troops than I need.
According to my math (since I programmed the game, I know what the calculations are), it would take 12 hours to take misty key if you had NO dark knights at all. Without dark knights, it'd take weeks to save the troops required to get the army power just to take Misty Keys. If you had 1 million dark knights, Misty Keys should only take around a half hour, could be a bit more since the calculations are random. It is possible for Misty Keys to take 12 hours if you had 500k+ dark knights due to unrealistically bad luck. Overall, dark knights save you time so resetting is worth it. ~Taiga

This is driving me crazy (because I'm a grammar Nazi) but when Catherine says "Take no prisoners...." it's serve us as our slaves, not THEIR slaves. That is all, I shall retreat back to my hole now.

The only problem I see is there doesn't seem to be any point to troops. Its more of a money sink to invest in things like Arena, without any payout from teh countries. You not only pay for the troop generation, but then pay for the attack resulting in a huge deficit.
So basically the fastest way to farm gold right now is to just ignore upgrades and putting anything into troop stuff.. >_>
Well if you start a game of Starcraft II or whatever, do you take your 4 resource gatherers you start off with and just wait to buy a barracks, or do you buy more resource gatherers until you got a comfortable flow of money before building a barracks? This game has some RTS-style tactics built into it so it is expected and intended gameplay to focus more on gold and getting dark knights up before you start pouring money into troop production :3 ~Taiga

I love the music! I keep this game window open for the music, and I suspect I'll do so even when offline calculations start including country revenue.

Taiga has been doing a good job. The music guy.. i dun care, always play with sound/music off. Now lets give some work to do for the artist since halloween update is over. The Catherine in achievment page is pretty ugly, to be more especific, the hair is weird, if you look at the crown and hair from economy page and then at the achievments page its just not right. Maybe catherine doesnt dye her hair while going to the options tab but she does get her hair too puffy when going to the achievments

Is there a reason battles are so slow? You know right from the start if you're going to win or lose. Seems kind of pointless to drag them out.
Because, it's a battle. You aren't clicking to 'buy' something. The battle speeds don't last days, they last anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple hours for the very late countries. Dark knights affect the speed of combat. I will not make combat instant or any faster than it already is. Battles calculate while you're offline too, it's an idle game, buy some stuff and go do other things and come back later lol. ~Taiga

Glitch(cool, but one-time use, sorta)- click on-screen (in-game, obviously), then drag it off-screen, then it looks like you have a sword-like looking mouse(the one in-game).

If your Unity doesn't work on you, try erasing all the cookies on your browser. I had the same problem but I cleared all the cookies and it's working for me again. It doesn't erase the game data so don't worry!
Unity works 100% of the time for me. I really wish I knew what was going on. I know Unity webplayer doesn't like Google Chrome. I also know that some people had success completely deleting Unity Webplayer and installing a new version. I have no control over Unity herping their web player so commenting about it here isn't going to fix anything. I would recommend spamming Unity's forums with your complaints instead since they likely will have no idea there's a problem with their webplayer since gamers are only commenting here instead of there :P ~Taiga

In terms of the gold gained versus the gold spent, the latter countries are VERY valuable, while conquering the early countries does not turn a profit. This is because the gold gained scales up by 1.5 for each successive country, while the gold cost to conquer scales up by less (after the first few) Thus, it's optimal to skip conquering the weak countries entirely. I'd recommend either changing the values of the early countries, or forcing the player to conquer them in order, so that the early countries are not just ignored.

When battling a territory, why does it sometimes show that I have HALF of a Troop (xxxx.5)? Is that half-pint guy the dwarf dude from GoT?

found a bug, offline gain doesn't equal normal gain. I have a guess that offline gain didn't include conquered countries. Because I went offline for 10 hours, and I gained the amount of 3 hour online with idle conquest opened
They will include conquered countries in next update. Once you guys are able to see the statistics and gains you are getting from everything per-second, conquered countries are giving you insane profit. Not so 'laughable' as people were saying :P ~Taiga

I think the best way to rebalance the gold production is knight multiplier* achievement multiplier, instead of plus way. when having millions of knights, the achievement is meaningless, but still difficult. although multiple way may cause the knights effect *5.5, it still need about 3~4 million knights to expend the gold production at the same level with all map conquest.

I thought of something. When taking over countries you should have the option to make it a slave or free country. The more free countries will give more troops and the more slaves the more gold you get. Also some achievements should give you new buildings. So wine exports could give you wine factories and they make more money depending on some countries.
Why not go one step further and add an "I win" button! When you click it, all your resources are maxed, upgrades bought, buildings built = 99999999. All achievements gained and countries conquered! ... not really >_< ~Taiga

So far a nice time-waster, although here is an idea, how about utilizing your soldiers a bit more than attacking, maybe have a country/island that doesnt get captured and allows you to throw troops at it for gold, or a defend mechanic where your countries get attacked from time to time(or you manually trigger it) and gradually grow in strength, if you win you get an extra gold/troops out of the country, if you loose the country is going to become independent again.
Never gonna happen. I mean think about it. They are a permanent boost that never goes away and after a million or so of them the boost is insane. Allowing them to boost themselves is the same as opening up a calculator and doing 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 *2 *2 *2 *2 *2 *2 *2 *2 until your number is outrageously large. I'd like to still be able to call my game 'idle' :P ~Taiga

I still wanna know the story about what the dark knights do during the day. Do they fight wars? or do I just have millions of demonic knights running around touria scaring the citizens into making me more money/ forcing people to become soldiers and to fight harder.
It's much easier to extort money or motivate people to 'train' harder when you have demonic soldiers running around completely loyal to your 'queen' ;) ~Taiga

I'm having the same unity problem with every unity game. I tried couple more times to fix it but it still saying that I have a lesser version of the unity. I don't know maybe I should wait a bit longer. Maybe newer versions are closed to my nation for some reason. (I'm from Turkey). I will return a comment when things are done or somethings changed.

In response to the .01% complaint... I just dark knight reset for the first time, after waiting well over a week to get a few million dark knights. My god.......... I got back to where I was before reset in like a few hours...

It'd be interesting to have a more 'interactive' map, in a sense. You can only have so many troops per country (based on size), and if you invade countries, the others will take measures to counteract it. Forming hidden alliances (i.e., say Misty and Grey were allied, and you attack Misty with enough to overthrow it, but when Grey's troops show up, the tide of battle turns and you lose the battle, including most (if not all) of your troops, and the gold spent on the endeavor.)
(EDIT): Before you guys upvote this comment, ask yourselves if you really want to be able to lose battles in an idle game. You could take days to build the troops to conquer Grey Isles just to lose them all and have to wait days again. I somehow think a losing condition is a bad idea.
I really love those ideas, but I also feel it will add way too much complication to a supposed-to-be simple idle game. However if enough people express interest in this game turning a lot more complicated... I don't know yet! ~Taiga

I kinda want to see some kind of combat options. Like you can leave it untouched but it will take longer but you can do little mini games to speed it up. Also I want to see a different line of text for each country taken. I like the queen's character.
Already plan on having her text dialogue be completely reworked in such a way as to add a feeling of epicness to your conquest. Lots of people like the queen's character and I love creative writing so this is win/win for me. Expect more queen stuff :3 ~Taiga
