Contrariwise to Viper25, I had almost no cards when I came to the table, but after a few goes I learnt a lot from this game. I made it all the way to level 8 just from learning from my mistakes.

Genius game, there should be a regional zoom feature though, it is to hard to accurately click on certain things. Like, the capital of Israel, I know exactly were Tel Aviv is, but its impossible to accurately click on it with all the black lines and tiny-ness of the region.
5 stars anyways, this game is addicting and educational, i don't have to feel guilty while playing it.
Should be required for highschoolers.

Bullshit game. When your geography is bad, it stays bad, because you have no time to actually learn the places. A great improvement would be a practice mode. That way the game would gain some really serious educational value. Right now, you play with the cards (knowledge) you bring to the table. 1/5

Jerusalem is in Israel. I know some people would like to think otherwise, but there is a nation there and it isn't Palestine.

and, under the same logic that edinburgh and aberdeen are in the United Kingdom, why isn't belfast? or at least, why isn't it Northern Ireland instead of north ireland?

So someone took that game at the end of "Where in the world is Carmen San Deigo" and thought that it would be fun to play?
Educational games are educational. And boring as hell. This game 0/0

For point-scaling, note that there are three levels of closeness, not just two! Further than 220km, you get 1x score. Between 220km and 50km, you get 3x score, and closer than 50km (2-3 pixles) you get 5x score.

I like this game, the only thing that needs to be adjusted is the calculation for your score based on distance. It seems that it’s almost impossible to score in the 200's if your close you will score 100-135, and then if your really close you get 300-335, there does not seem to be any in between. The distance vs score needs to scale better.

hungrygrok, if the game uses the local spelling, than why do they use the English Name of Köln (Colognia) and not the German one?

It would lovely if there were was an option for statistical bias: finding out over several games which countries/continents the player is most unfamiliar with and batter him with those. The game is only interesting if I don't actually know the answer (or am uncertain). Other than that, great job!

Re: Afrika -- place names are listed by local spelling, not American spelling. Re: Svalbard -- check out the Wikipedia entry on Svalbard. It's owned by Norway entirely since after WWI, but it definitely is that archipelago way north above the arctic circle. Pretty cool game, if it makes ya learn things, says I. I spent about four hours reading about Svalbard because of it.

I seem to have one of two problems: either the country didn't exist when i was in High School, or my mouse (at 2000dpi) moves 200 miles/tick. I, too, should have paid more attention as most of these places haven't moved in a very long time. Funny how much different the world looks without borders...

My main issue, aside from mouse accuracy issues (which are also in part on my end), is the tint or coloring or whatever the hell of the maps. Sometimes islands don't stand out well or bodies of water look misshapen.
