The point system is awful. If I miss a city by about 200 miles, which really is not much on such a small scaled map I receive some ridiculous 100 points, and get nearly as much just for clicking fast.
The point loss should scale slower, losing 300% just because of some 210 miles more off is dumb.

it's a pity how it works. Bad luck can kill your game in higher levels.
The fact it's not only using "better-known"-cities or capitals, but draws from quite a big pool, means a series of obscure cities may cause a lot of problems, especially when the borders go away and you just don't know the exact location of, say, kirgisistan, and in the high levels you can't afford to be beyond the x3 bonus very often.
a "Skip" feature would have greatly improved this, either a fixed number of skips per game, a fixed number per round, or just costing you points(-100 points so you better get the next one right...) as a desperation tool.

"So, you thought you could escape school by coming onto Kongregate, did you? Bad news!"
You dont learn these things in all schools (not the ones i went to).

I always liked these kinda geography games, though it has some really weird spellings on some places. For instance I thought it was "Aden", not "Adan". Also it's neigh impossible to hit closer than 100km except by luck. (I got a strike on Bern, Switzerland when there was no countrylines. Luck, I tell you!)

Awesome game, loving it. Just can't complete level 10!!! Takes me about 5 attempts to get to it even... but at least I'm getting a few strikes, like one every three games or so. Final badge seems impossible!

I dont get it, I really dont. Why does kongregate gives bagdes to such godawefull games? There are so many great games whithout badges...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Though fun, this game pulls some very random cities out of thin air during higher levels. It will start easy and then just start throwing the most random name.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
to be honest only the hard badge is any hard at all.... 5,000 points on this is so friggin easy to get... if you cant at least make it to level 8 you know nothing.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Game needs more cities and a function to zoom in or something. Sometimes I know the exact location of a city, but the damn map is to imprecise and small.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
addictive :(
got all achievments except the last one although I did get the strike. Getting to level ten is very hard, maybe it should be an impossible badge..
Got the card too btw

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know all these cities but I should at least get points for knowing about where they are seeing as how I've never travelled thus I don't know 90 thousand cities exact latitude and longitude :/ 3/5

@Huggybear1980. I'm not american, i'm from new zealand, we just learn placenames in our native tongue so it would be alot more based on knowledge than memory if it was like that ingame.

Path to Edumacations
Dude! You just completed the Path to Edumacations achievement in Globetrotter XL and won the Path to Edumacations badge and 15 points!

I got 3 perfect strikes in the same round and then lost the one without political borders. For perfect strikes, (I didn't use an atlas like you cheaters), right click and zoom if you know the city really well.

Man it gets hard when the borders disappear. My only issue is that some names are in different langauges like 'Sankt Petersburg' it should all be in english. LOL ugly american ;P

dudepants: Risk's world map is waaay too simplified; half of Europe is called Ukraine..
Nice game, but would be nicer to have zoom or continent/region maps. After all, we do know many cities' more exact position than this map allows.

god the later levels are difficult even with google maps open in another window and 3 roommates... hahah awesome game though, i wish they had this back in middle school.

I saw someone call this game unforgiving, I agree...some errors in the way things are described, sometimes it's "city, country", sometimes it's "city, state/province" and sometimes "city, region", but oh well. I wish there was a pause function ;)

it is a good, fun game, and i can see the educational value in it. that being said, i think that maybe more research should be done into giving countries their correct name. eg the city of kisangani is in the democratic republic of the congo, not 'congo' as is stated in the game. 'congo' or, the republic of the congo is a small country west of the the democratic republic of the congo. also, why are cities in alaska not being counted as cities in the USA, and same goes for tasmania/australia? i know i'm being nit-picky, but don't you think geography is something that you should be nit-picky about?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Two strikes... one was totally luck (well I knew where the country was), the other is in my home state.
Good game, but very, very unforgiving.

28km. . . rarw make 25km in all directions a strike its just to hard to get a stike even if you know exactly where it is.
