No. Capitalism's goal isn't to create great things. It's to create wealth. It's the -only- mandate of capitalism and will do so at the expense of humans, the environment or personal liberty. This has been evidenced. The only thing a capitalist society will help you be is a great capitalist.

proff tyler: i am pretty sure i could gather up a few kids from my school give them some pump action shot guns or two, and single handedly take over Canada.... i am sorry but mooses are not viable means of transporation
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The Americans are not most dominate because people are more likely to die there of violence and starvation than many others what kind of dominate country has no people. Canada is more dominate than the states as we produce most of the food and our own technology as well. We don't rely on others for survival as much as the Americans do.

No i am pretty sure its because just like in capitalism, the people in power in Socalism are VERY rich and often extremely corrupt, causing millions of citizens to die (Stalin, Mao) the only difference is in captialism it is actaully POSSIBLE to advance in one's life.

conco, why are you not a citzen of china yet, socialist scum, cycle of poverty...... let me give you a hint: life is not fair and all people are not equal in abilites or talents. (Their value as a human being is equal tho)
there will always be suffering in the world.
No matter how much money you give to a drug addict, they wont break poverty. The great part about captialism is if you REALLY want, you can achieve great things

Carbine: Ever hear of a man called Turing. He was really British. You can thank -him- for the fact that you have a computer. Dolt.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, but the computers developed in countries like the U.K. and Germany could have also evolved into our current computers.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Unless iowa state university was in germany i'd have to say the first electronic digital computer was made in america
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Conco: you are right it is ALL societies fault that some are people are rich and some people are poor. who needs economic freedom? we should all be socialists and help those who are "misunderstood" or "unlucky"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
and i SHOULD have just stoped reading at englishmen , and O btw, all of you can thank America for that fact that you have the internet or even a computer

Much of modern society is based off of agriculture, which spawned in China and the Fertile Crescent. Modern society is based off of things that go way back, and you shouldn't assume that without the U.S. we'd be just learning the secrets of the combustion engine.

Oh, and about sending jobs overseas - yes, America does buy its teddy bears from China, but guess what China buys from the US? Missles. Intel chips. Other high-end material. So while it may not seem like it, the US is still a major manufacturing power.

yeah i do like the 1st grader who wanted john kerry to win (you must have made quite an informed decision rather than listen to your dad cuss to the radio)

The thing is though, you make it seem like the U.S.A. is unique in that it gives civil rights to all citizens. Most "western" countries have civil rights at least close to the U.S., and many have around the same.

MUch of modern society and modern life styles are based of american advancements, mean while farmers in russia and china are dying from contaiminated well-water...

paradoxymoron , and all those imigrants can thank the freedoms and econmoic opportunites that America gave to them. IF we didnt let women show their skin and have jobs, like all those , pardon my french, towel heads do, we wouldnt be as great of a country. Yes, the people in america do make up the country, but teh goverement isnt stiffling creativitey and journalism (china), rather than letting all its inhabitants blossem.

@Carbinekilla: The U.S. doesn't hold 36% of the worlds wealth, in fact, the U.S. is one of the poorest countries in the world due to very large debts.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
George Bush, a bad president?! No, declaring war on a country for no good reason is a good thing! What are you talking about?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The U.S.A. is not the most important nation. Americans are generally categorized as being stupid and fat for the same reasons that any stereotype exists.
I agree with liberal philosophy, and your generalization towards liberals as stupid is counteracted by your stupidity. Kongregate is not racist, it is merely poking fun at stereotypes. Russia and China are fairly dominant nations, but so is the U.S.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The U.S. is a large country, so there is a reasonable chance that there are some smart people in the U.S. (if there weren't, that would be embarrasing, it is normal that a large county that spends a lot of money develops a lot of things made some good advancements(allthough half the things that are claimed by them aren't true) and they pump a lot of money (they don't have) into a lot of things, those are the only reasons the U.S. is "dominant" (if you can call it that way, the U.S. is forwarding itself as a great country, while there are numerous countries that are a lot better which don't have an arrogant big mouth).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Carbine: The inanity of statements like "most important nations of all time" sort of give evidence toward whatever stereotype you were protesting. As for technological advancement, you can thank immigration for that. People accomplished great things. It's not as if people became super inventive once they crossed an imaginary border.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Conco, STFU and dont listen to CNN , liberal biitch. and corkscrew while MANY jobs have been sent over sees where there are little to no labor laws (think slavery) america still holds roughly 36% of the worlds weath as a SINGLE country

Not bad, being a person who cares nothing about Geography I'm surprised how much I knew. Learned some stuff too... I guess it wouldn't be a bad educational tool
However, I would like to know how knowing geography makes you smart and not knowing it makes you dumb? Ignorant of the world around you, maybe... but the same can be said for not knowing the sciences or economics. I find the sciences or knowledge of technology to be a lot more relevant, applicable and useful than knowing where "Reunion" is or what happened in 1797. Meh, maybe that's just me though?

You can't blame the children for electing bush. I wanted John Kerry to win 8 years ago, but I was in first grade.
HINT: If you have trouble hitting some of the cities in smaller countires, try zooming in

Carbinekilla, you're still under the illusion that the U.S. of A is still allmighty and powerful. The thing is, we've lost LOTS of power since World War II, our peak of power. Since then, a lot of jobs have been sent to other countries, meaning we're basically shipping our money to other countries.
