I'm surprised there isn't a way to check up on the blacksmith while he's making the pickaxe. I mean, the only information that your given is that he "makes a dud". How can you tell that he's not just, ripping you off by making duds on purpose? He doesn't even give yo the pickaxe, he can just sell it himself for a huge profit plus he keeps the gems! He's probably laughing in his diamond encrusted house, diamond fiber suit and diamond plated Ferrari ... I want to marry him.

I have successfully amassed the entire Earth's GDP and used that money to hire a slightly better blacksmith. I'm pretty sure this is Communist propaganda. Its the worker (blacksmith) who eventually wins.

@luis1126: There is no beating it, the hellstone goes on forever, generating higher levels of itself until the code gets an error when it gets too high level.

That time when he gets a flash of inspiration but doesnt make anything useful, and what the hell happens to the duds? Does the blacksmith secretly sell them for more money? Or does he burn them? And why dont I get gems all the time from Amethysts and Topaz and Diamonds and stuff like that?
