Here's a hint: If you have a pickaxe that is several times more powerful than the base power that the blacksmith can craft, save your gems, and focus entirely on making huge amounts of money. Upgrade the **** out of the blacksmith until he has a good chance of crafting a better pick.

Pretty decent timewaster and the sense of progression was nicely transmitted. Would be nice to have more skills or random events to keep the interest a bit longer. This needs a statistics page though, it screams to track how many ores you mined, clicks you did and so on.
Maybe you could introduce a fatigue system to give this more depth, unless you want to keep it as it is for artistic reasons to make a pointht about how many people would work like Sysiphos or paint the fence like in huckleberry finn if given a slight incentive to make that entertaining.

the best way to get gems is to go to the one ore that you can instantly mine .the one ore that I can mine instantly right now is carbonite

Increase health of Hellstone and reward with 1 to 2%per level, the speed is to close to killing it withing a few seconds.
The defense is to high compared to health.

Wow so here's a story, I had upgraded my chance of finding gems to 5% and I thought I should mine something super weak. So I did and I got approximately 50 gems out of it, everyone should try this too it could help.

@Kyuss It's correct for when one auto-strick mines the resource. And is at least approx correct when you need several strickes. But it's wrong when you almost get the resource in a single hit.

It's deceiving... right on you don't need to click, it mines for it's self! ... until you realize you have 2,000 gems and you need a better pick to progress...

The idle damage is not displayed correctly for example...
It says auto damage per second equals 72061; however, it's only doing 47729 damage.

Using system clock time changes with the game closed idle upgrades for quick cash works great...until you hit a save point and it crashes the game.

There should be upgrade for a pet that get gold and sometime gems and different pet that has different stats and upgrades.
