It's a buff, the effect is the same but it uses less gems. You are still better off crafting one gem at a time, the skill is for if you have so many gems that using them all would take too long (or you don't mind using more gems to minimize your risk). Basically each level you use ensures a boost that is ordinarily a bit worse than 1 in 3 chance.
It uses SharedObject to save automatically. I was under the impression that this is the best way to do it in Flash. Do you have trouble saving in other games or only this one? Are you allowing Kongregate enough hard drive space to make saves? (Right-click the game, Settings, click the folder icon, ensure space allowed is higher than space used) Or are you running some sort of cleaner software which deletes flash SharedObjects? It seems a couple of people have had a problem but I am not sure why.

You get gems for destroying rocks so if you use a strong pick and rapid cick the poop you get tons on gems super quick

Add money/click: ore value/(ore hp/damage per click).
Because the optimal ore to click differs from the optimal ore to idle when you have upgraded.

Low graphic quality and lag during clicking bring the game down a bit but it is rather well done considering. a good 4/5 so far

My click/second is at 22.55 and say upgrade it will get me to 23.74 but it also say max level . So lock it or make it buyable ;D

Hm, updates seem to work now. Not sure why they would not go through before. Anyway there is a new version now (v0.9 -- you can check on the help page) with many more rocks and a few minor fixes. Thank you for the feedback.

Having a "Give all gems!" option would be nice. I have quite a lot of gems built up in the night and this morning. Also, yesterday for a short while I had graphics for up to Mithril, today I refreshed and it's back to the poo with "Lazy" written on for the later half of the mine spots.
Done. I will make it easier to access later but for now you can get to the reset page by pressing Shift+R on the Help screen (click ?). I don't want people to reset by accident.
