actually, that is false. It take how much money the ore will give you, and it divides it by how many ticks it will take to break the ore, thats how it gets the $/s number.

I think that the $/s can be very inaccurate in many cases, as it seems to calculate from the sum of autodamage you do, not the ticks needed to "kill" an ore.

day 99: i came back into the mines to check on the drone. it had made me hundreds of quintillions of dollars. i put nearly all of it into making the drone work faster. time to see if the blacksmith will actually give me something for all these hundreds of gems

I don't click because it's a waste of my effort so I simply leave it idling in the background all day every day for HOLY CRAP MONTHS APPARENTLY.
my auto g/s is ideal at hellstone 117 and zeros out at hellstone 123. knowing that it's taken me this long to get this far and that the maximum is hellstone 2237, I really should just quit now...but this game has been a lingering part of my computer for so long I would feel empty if I gave up, now...

I remember when I got my first pick with power over 1mil. I was amazed and thought it must be such an achievement. Now my picks in the hundreds of billions and I still think it's a shitty one.

I have no idea why I keep this damn game open. Typically, each day I have to shut it down because of the memory it eats. I'm only on hellstone 117. Yet I. Keep. Playing. WTF is wrong with me? Am I suddenly going to become an idle mine badass, capable of beating all who would challenge me? Will I in some other aspect be gifted with godlike powers? I. HATE. THIS. GAME. Why will it not let me be in peace?

Buckadilla to get gems you must be playing actively, you don't mine gems while the game is closed. Try leaving it opened in a window (not a tab, it wouldn't work) by itself and see what happens.
