Two stories to tell. I just had several matches against a lower rating player. I adapted my tactics a few times, like I do when I'm matched up against the same player multiple times in a row. In the end, he started to beat me. I'm satisfied. Then I started against another, higher rated player. He zergrushed me, and it was a good zergrush. I had to adapt my standard attrition tactics to incorporate lasers and phalanx from the start. After the zergrush was countered, it was a game of time and resources, which is my specialty. A quick note to KDXX: You can counter the tentacles easily by building artillery towers as early as possible. Also, lasers are your friend. I reached CPU level 320 that way. Sadly, the computer cheats harder instead of getting better, so I concentrate on multiplayer now. That's an actual challenge.

After reviewing my play style, and practicing a few times, I have revise my unofficial rating, as I normally do. The speed with which the "tentacle" aliens produce Capitals has be stated as a significant problem.
It's something that should have been addressed immediately. And hasn't therefor my rating of this game drops from 2/5 to @%#! you. I liked this series, but if it's meant to be unplayable unless you grind. Then that's what I and a lot of people will do.
We'll stop playing.

How win the game: 1)build 4 reactor 2)build some torrets, like 5-6 of different kind. 3) when you are safe, build 4 more reactors (+35 energy gorw) 4) build 3 fighter bay with the cheaper ship. 5) build more reactors (to +68 it's ok) 6) buld fighter bay into all the free place with the strongest ship. 7) wait. 8) upgrade the towers and ship you use at the store and sell the rest.

Great game, but in mine opinion it would be nice to see some kind of counter for Capital Ships. By that I ment, some smaller units that are dedicated to fight them - torpedo bombers etc. As it is right now - You can counter them only by other capitals, or by really numberous fleet. And please, don't get me wrong - I like how OP they are. I just think there should be small risk that Your emeny is capable to dispatch smaller units that will be able sink those quickly in cases You are relaying on them too much.

One other thing (forgot to mention it in my other post). Some sort of building range extender ought to be part of the core set of structures that can be built.

I agree that maps should be a bit larger in general. Also, the "infected race" is a little overpowered, relative to the others. Either that or its AI is the only one that is actually able to utilize its strength well. Either way, it is quite a step up in difficulty from normal enemies and those ice-cloud enemies.

Is there a way to delete unwanted items? Because at this point I'll have to wait two days to play campaign again, and that's ridiculous.

Instead of paying for more inventory slots, what about allowing players to ditch items or vessels ??? especially those one posses multiple times ?

Or so you think. Alternatively, we need a personal blacklist, to keep certain players from popping up again and again.

I have an important need... Fullscreen mode. For those who would love to see the entire battlefield, since we do actually see entire enemies bases already.

I'm pretty sure the bio-things are getting carriers for free. I'm not seeing them build any capital pads, anyway, their face-removing capitals seem to spawn out of nowhere. I think it's when they spore a cruiser,it turns into a carrier...somehow...

and i am not so happy anymore..they took out the fast pace attitude that made the last 2 amazing..this game is slow and i thought there would be a speed button..Come on DEVS..if your gonna do it..do it right.

To preface, I'm a HUGE fan of OE2 and plan on spending days on this game. It's very fun and certainly one of the better strategy/defense type games out there. But I do have some criticisms- It would be nice if there was a way to change what ships are produced without destroying and re-building docks. The multiplayer aspect doesn't seem to have much of a matching mechanism to make sure that battles are even, and the players often start close enough together to be able to win with only turrets. Ultimately, it feels like very little forward movement has been made since the previous title aside from the multiplayer. Balancing is even more of an issue than before because of the multiplayer, and there seem to be instant win solutions for players who have the right combos. My biggest complaint is simply that the big complaints with this game were present in the previous version.
