@Jeymzj maybe for you the shop offered phalanx in that time period... my point is that for me it didn't thus and i didn't spent 30 hours to get to lvl 6 I've never said that... what i said was i spent 30 hours waiting just to get a phalanx and btw soon i got one i immediately won lvl 6 and 7 in less then a hour... and the thing is when over half the shop is platinum because of RNG and you have no stamina (because what would be a game without stamina) the ability to remove all of that is an advantage not only by time it gives to skip the grind for loot but the ability to remove this RNG style random mod rolling by letting you cherry pick the mods from the shop that other wise would take way to long to farm the same amount of platinum in which case the grind by no normal reasonable means worth it unless again you're a fanatic of this type of no brain RTS
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
as soon as you figure out a way to defeat every faction camp is fairly easy dude. no need for namecalling. you should try out different strategies from time to time
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
removing a mayor part of the luck part of the game by paying is something id honestly consider as an advantage not to mention that unless you consider this game as a grind for no content type of game the early game part where you cant farm platinum is the part where most people will probably decide whenever they stay or leave... i don't know how many hundreds or thousand of hours you have spent on reaching that level but considering the unfair scaling of difficulty every level increase the time it takes to defeat each enemy (with barely any variety between tactics since the AI is dumb) so unless you're a masochist or a fanatic of these types of redundant RTS with 0 control over your units, I'm pretty certain the grind doesn't worth it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the luck component is very strong thats true but in the levels 1-5 every necessary unit will turn up eventually. if not just repeat th lvl 5 map over and over.
But paying doesnt give you a real advantage… the upgrades are purely random meaning more cash means nothing but more tries to get good mods. believe me i have upgraded crazy amounts of ships. also the rewards for lefels will go up as long as you progress. from level 30 on you get 30 plat for every boss and in lvl 85 a normal duel gives between 2300 and 2500 gold.

also p2w definition is not that you cant win without winning (luck always a factor) but that paying gives you advantage over your opponent = this game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@drseitenbach wrong... ive started 3 days ago and trying to get a phalanx since day 1.. cant even progress past lvl 6 because the enemy rushing hammerheads.. the shop only offered phalanxes for platinum thus unless you get extremely lucky (because apparently playing 10 hours a day is not enough for this game to progress) this is a literal pay wall
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yeah you are completetly wrong about the p2w part. i havent spent one cent and am one of the pvp high scorers and i reached level 85 in campaign. you need stamina no question but it is perfectly playable without paying. saying you are struggling to get a phalanx means you are at the complete beginning of the game. i assume you played a few matches in campaign tried pvp once or twice and when you saw that you actually need to come up with something you bail out and complain in the comments. sorry but get out
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A heavy p2w game with a stamina element and an RNG shop just to salt the wounds of those who struggling to get a phalanx turret... the only part that i barely can believe is how is this a 2014 game when it literally has all the bs that most games today on kongregate ha.

@RemelR Try VL (Void-Lance) rushing the boss. It works pretty much forever as long as the boss is nearby. You need the expansion tech and a cloaked VL along with constructors. Start by placing as many extractors as you can (remember to pause and also count how many constructors you will need to reach the enemy base) and then once you have the metal sell the extractors for energy and place the VL hugging the enemy base. This may take a few tries as the enemy build order is random and he may cover all possible VL spots before you reach his base. Its the easiest to do this on the yellow boss as they don't have tactical shields but with a bit of luck you will be able to do this on the green and red boss too.

the only cure probs for you sir since you are getting cramped is to play cancerous. aka just run 4x primers, some bomb racks and quad missiles as base defense and bombard em from range since you can't build far, let your defenses reach into their base instead. if possible.

doesn't it only seem fair for all pincer matches to force the a.i to start off with half resources each since a 2v1?
also devs. clean up your maps. sick of getting cramped up against 2+ large ore rocks. re rolling isn't fun when you can't actually win at it due to being cramped up against too many ore rocks in the small as hell building area we have...

@tanminecraft2 The game becomes pretty much impossible after level 200, the only way to win is to get multiple AI's without any asteroids or the cloud AI which is the weakest one and can be easily killed even at level 200
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yeah those strategies work out because they are good for campaign. so if you die you know your strategy is not good enough. i don't understand the problem. also there is only one person who is higher than level 200 and that person is a known cheater. so what is your point again?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I saw pro players use freeze autocannon to cheese everything. Even with instant capital ship, pro players are still winning. AI is so stupid that they can be dealt with the same strategy over and over again to lv 200 at that point, it's quite pointless and you'd be better off farming at lv 10
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
and yes the ai does have some rapid advances sometimes but that means you have to adapt your strategy and find new ways to deal with it. thats what all the now pro players did. and in my opinion that is what makes this game so great. it requitres a certain sense of strategy and problem solving skill. but i see your point. its difficult but isnt it also super satisfying to then finally beat the levels as you get better?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i probs just agree with the clog part, its a nightmare having 50% or more of your building room taken up, especially in pincer matches. entire re-rolls of the missions are sometimes required just to avoid a clog.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well. at least theres some things the dev could improve on for OE4
i know. it sounds dumb for more experienced players but the a.i progression does seem to advance at a much higher rate than what the average player can keep up with. urgh. it also feels really weird how the a.i gets substantially greater benefits than the player. including but not limitted to: clog immunity (not being placed with 7+ or more rocks in their building areas + their instant huge building area) and a far greater amount of technologies abruptly. going from level 1 to 5 was pretty fun. but 6 and 7 seems to halt alot of average players.
its not really grindy for the best tech but the climb in difficulty does grow. alot. and pretty fast. and uh.... well... theres no tutorial for newbie players :L
at least theres some basic things to point out.

This game is crap, i'm at a difficulty level 15 and that have capital ships? WHERE ARE MINE? This game is just a crappy Pay to win game. This deserve a 1/5 stars.

este juego me encanto al inicio este juego era horrible xD pero ya que estoi en el nivel 12 este juego lo peta :VVVVV
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@vampiloup purple is one of the easiest enemies throughout the entire game. you just need to learn how to turtle them
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Tried it, but after a few campaigns there is nothing to do against fast mass production of machine-guns hammerheads that can one-shot your base from their yard... Need some balancing.
