Most players will use fighter yard and constructor, and gladiators (which need their phalanx nerfed). Personally, I prefer constructor and naval yard.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The Fighter Bay is my favorite aux. building. One or two can quickly swarm an enemy or keep them occupied long enough to bring in bigger guns.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the fighter yard is generally useless i acree marczero but it also changes the trajectory and spawns them faster than 4 small bays hahah but yes inever use it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@marczero fighter yard is 7.5 times more efficient that fighter bay. You pay 200 energy for 4 fighters every 4 sec, or 1 fighter each second. Compare that to paying 35 energy for 1 fighter every 7.5 sec for fighter bay. 200 metal is worth it for 7.5 times faster fighter spawnage. And while 200 energy seems like a lot, you only pay the price of the actual fighter once, while you would have to pay that price 7 times with 7 fighter bays.

@Shuriken in campaign, you can immediately pause it. in pvp, you always start with 500 energy (+- techs), and there are really just 4 different maps.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
there should be detail about every battle with cpu like starting enrgy,who/what we are fighting and a map to plan our strategy

I can't play the game. it just says "Logging in... please wait" and I've waited ten minuets and it still shows that. can someone help me?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well, Im not bothered by the fact, that miners fully mine up an asteroid and then go to the next nearest. Now i have two miners at the nearest asteroid, and all others charge the enemy base, ignoring all the other asteroids nearby.

cwwallis: im thinking i can finish that [OE4 demo] next week and launch around christmas plus or minus a couple days
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
if your not losing lives at all or not much...you can spend lives to restart the campaign at any level without losing anything and farm credits/ships o_o
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Johny otherwise, the miners would keep orbiting the same asteroid and stack up. You would get 10 or 20 miners orbiting an asteroid from just one miner fighter bay. Which is totally broken in terms of metal economy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Roberto577 cwwallis said he would do an OE4 beta around Christmas... which should be in a few weeks. I haven't heard much more about it, not sure if there are further delays.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sorry for asking the question that has probably been asked over a hundred times already, but when is OE4's release planned? I remember reading the thread about it and it said, next year... which was one year ago. Can anyone give me an accurate release date? As in as close to the real release date as possible?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@MrSheepTheBah keeping in mind that cwwallis will probably NEVER upgrade this game, at least not until after he completes OE4, which will take forever. Given that, your in-game upgrades will just make this game more complicated than it needs to be (imo), and cww would never have the patience to do this anyhow. BTW, I have replied. You're welcome!

well keep the 4 technology slots. but the map wouldn't have to be bigger etc is structures were upgradable... its simple logic. you can't keep living in the past. I don't want to be rude but would you rather 6 extractors or 3 with the same efficiency for an upgrade cost in game not consuming any extra slots in anything out of matches AND taking up less room. if you can't understand upgrading buildings then please don't reply... the exp part would also make crunching harder and may cause more of an incentive for energy bars and limiting of game crunching. it may also prevent fast technological advances which you can already do easy in this game ( thank god ) without it. its with plenty of video games these days you know for example CoD how you aren't just thrown overpowered guns "instantly". however this game requires little effort to kick off with powerful upgrades already. its just strategy and potentially a few other things. do not reply please.

@albnoob You get 10 platinum per day, as well as 10+ (more for higher lvls) when you complete a campaign. Considering this "low" income of platinum, I have 700 platinum currently, and I have also bought inventory space so that I have 210 inventory space right now. Increasing platinum gain is certainly not an issue.

@MrSheeptheBah I was just wondering why you think we should pay energy and metal for upgrades. That just doesn't really make sense. I mean, paying metal and energy for base cannon upgrade is literally like paying metal and energy for a turret. Plus, you haven't considered the consequences. There are only 4 tech slots for a reason. Being able to buy more in game would mean that everyone would get like 10 heatsinks, which would lead to stuff like one frame hammerheads or even one frame beam halos. Or 6 or 7 primers would mean that caps would be practically useless due to huge void lance range.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@MrSheeptheBah why do you think we should pay energy/metal for in-game upgrades? I actually think that that is not a bad idea, but it's better to have a new game currency like XP, this will make buying upgrades less similar to purchasing new turrets, structures.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what would be nice is in game upgrades. like on our hq to use base guns technology in game without needing a technology rather being an upgrade that costs energy and metal. the technologies can stay around sure but wouldn't you want to upgrade buildings etc and improve efficiency, fire rate, production. I could go on but that's my point. unfortunately. people do not seem to understand what I mean by IN GAME UPGRADES. well. base defenses and ships are nice but being able to upgrade our in game reactors and so on would be great. it would turn quantity into quality! meaning one reactor could be really efficient where as using two would give off the same benefit. it would also shrink bases down a lot you know making it much easier to fit on the map. the good parts of upgradable buildings IN GAME.

@Vaerturk queues for pvp are shorter if you try asking people in the chat. (maybe you shouldn't have your chat turned off, ehh? :p) But yes, typically if there are 20 people currently playing, only 2-3 are interested in pvp. This is an old game, so many multi- players have quit over the years. About the cloaked capitals, any cloaked ship will re-cloak if they stop firing for a certain amount of time (about 30 frames). This may happen because there is nothing to target, or because the cap is turning to the next target, which takes time.

@thecursor base cannons are actually just about the most overpowered campaign tech. One tech slot for 2 autocannon (normally 150 energy, 25 metal) is a sweet deal, don't complain. And if you want to pay for defenses in-game, those are called turrets, didn't you know? :p
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
we could do with a few more upgrades or even in game upgrades on our buildings etc so we don't have to consume technology for base guns and so on. so we can just pay up some metal and energy in game for it. its odd but some of us need lots of energy production and don't wanna have to remove a slot...

are pvp ques supposed to be 10-15minutes long???? has any body else seen cloaked capital ships that suddenly stop attacking even though it didn't die???
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
AGAINST HUMANS! At least I think they're humans because of the ships looking similar to modern space rockets and war machines. It works really well against humans mainly. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.

I just found a bug where I upgraded right after upgrading a different item, which lets you upgrade but you don't know you have upgraded it until you refresh. Sooooooo I wasted 2 upgrades by accident before finally refreshing lol. Yep refresh if you get this bug :l Oh yeah and the energy, and iron rate shown isn't the exact rate...luckily Evernewb told me that. Then you can rush for a capital patiently with just 2 energy, 1 mine and a handful of defensive turrets vs ai at least (I'm breezing through nowT_T) I felt so confused from seeing people in pvp with a capital even though they only had a few resource buildings lol. CAN I HAVE MY CREDITS BACK? =l

we could do with more control on our upgrades. at least a choice of support offense or defense to aid with different situations. that would be nice to have...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@thecursor Good ideas. I assume you want an AoE effect ship that doesn't effect your own units? The problem with that is that if are damage didn't have that "friendly fire" effect, there would be little incentive for using conventional weapons. AoE completely bypasses phalanx (assuming the area splash is big enough), and it would decimate swarms. Also, this doesn't make sense. If you detonate a bomb in front of your face, of course it would hurt you as well. Getting rid of friendly fire on area damage encourages senseless explosions and discourages tactical usage. If you want to have a friendly AoE ship, maybe you should try using other ships to help (such as using force trident to back up ragnorak)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
does anyone think capitol ships could be toned down and also improved? we need something for heavy crowd control without recoiling effects like the tyrants freeze and the biohazards acid on your own buildings. and so on. and a new anti ship base defense which has great range and a high fire rate. like lasers but even better for a bit more energy. and without metal for once.

@MrSheepTheBah Besides the first level of campaign (is this what you're referencing?) all levels of campaign are randomized. You have equal chances of getting duels, skirmishes, pincers, etc. If you are talking about how the first mission is always a red duel... well it could be worse. And I would say a red duel is very much a foothold, because you know exactly what to expect and you can build your strategy around it.

5/5 Great pacifier for all the players who got stung by hackers ruining the multiplayer version of Star Fighter Disputed Galaxy. It was like LoL at fighting..........but with space ships instead of champions T_T
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
not again. no changes when you begin any new campaign. no footholds at all. this is disappointing cause some people have requested skirmishes rather than duels. you don't have to agree but it would be a nice change. just saying. you can't always live with the same duels... it does get a bit boring too.
