why anyone of new people says anything about how to upgrade mediums? capitals and only capitals, game spiins around them, they are equaled to mediums in spawn time and suprass them in everything else.

Cataclysm with laser turret would be broken, as one Cata has more armor, less cost, and much better turnrate than Trident. Also, cata has received a buff with additional slow-reloading large non-homing missile.

what if cataclysm got buffed by coming with a laser? If this makes it too similar to trident, make the laser a falcon laser (10 damage, fire every 6 frame)

Why a return of the jupiter Dragold, jup are already good enought isn't it ? 2k armor, 300 range, around 60 to 80 dps, 9 fighter lunched per wave, and it's damn cheap. Jup rule !

or maybe have phalanx fire more shots/sec, maybe 2x, but lower the rof on glads and make it take multiple shots to stop larger rounds, like a arty-halo round takes 3 hits, and a saph round takes 1

Agree with Noraka, phalanx is already borderline OP in itself. Glad Yard is total shutdown for 40% of the game units.
what i like to see in OE4 is:
1. different movement/target pattern ships (attack from behind, take the long route)
2. melee/super close range capitals, so i can get cloak and ninja on enemy

Any larger-scaled miner after Exhumer are not useful. There's no point having too much metal. I'm just tired of looking all these 'Capital-sized miner' and such, they won't even get to be any use but to waste a capital slot.

well, you'd need more projectile spam to counter it, and then regular phalanx would be useless, so it would definitely ruin the balance

Glas yard alredy make most artillery and missile strategie useless, a phalanx halo would ruin every strat exepct those based on black hole and laser. That would be damn boring.

Solderg1 there are hacks for the game, people are hackers. There is a cheat engine for this.
But, it does not work in multiplayer, so no worries for unfair play since the is no People For The Ethical Treatment Of Artificial Intelligence

for OE4 i suggest making more music tracks maybe? there are only a few on this one, and i would love to see more for the next game. also maybe make a high level multiplayer, med level multiplayer, low level multiplayer and custom level? sometimes people fight eachother who are way overpowered. just a suggestion tho

What I meant was that there are specific battles that are not possible. For example, a skirmish against yellow and purple with almost no metal is unbeatable. A boss battle against yellow or purple is often impossible, forcing you to restart the level. Pincers are almost never possible. Im not saying that you can't farm campaign, Im just saying that it could be better designed.

what level are u? People have legit made it to level 100. You can even google vids of high level campaign. And if we're talking level 600 or something, hey: this game have infinite level, what do you expect? I like how the game difficulty increases, it provide more challenge. I'm level 41 and still going strong!

Okay, so now that OE4 is coming out I thought that I might give some constructive, real criticism. The one, most important thing I would like to see in OE4 is some way of insuring that every campaign level is beatable. Right now, especially in boss levels but even in normal levels, it is possible to face a scenario where you can't win, and thats no fun.

These Pre-set tower idea isn't actually bad to promote late game, actually. But it's hard to implement as there's those problems, map edge, direction to enemy base, and setting them to have 0 sell value. The best bet is to make it like Base Cannons.

honestly who would want 4-5 RANDOMLY PLACED turrets in your build area? the map edge occasionally causes difficulties enough. previews would make lives fairly redundant, try the map and if you cannot build and react (there is a pause button) you'll know better next try and can change your armory accordingly. it is not often i have needed a dedicated setup to win but i am only low lvl so the best advice i have for those that are asking for the easy button is to press NEW to start again from lvl 1 to collect and sell more drops for more upgrades. i did this at lvl 7 and have flown through back up to lvl 7 far more potent. Enjoy.

If we had auto-generating turrets, they would have to be 5-6 and spawn randomly in the area around your base and have 0 sell value.

@elementalz I suppose You're right. But maybe we should be allowed to have 3 free turret placements before using up energy at the start of every battle? That might be useful. And I do agree, a map preview would be very helpful. Hopefully in OE4 our base isn't right next to the sides of the map, because it always limits our building placements.

@Xyklox420 Perhaps just make it like Base Cannons, because that'd be tiring to swap out the turret positions every campaign. Thinking about that, it might be a great idea to have a map preview for every campaign in OE4, so you know what condition you'll face (close fight, lack of asteroids, etc)

@xyklox that would be pointless since base cannon and base shield exist. Also, would there be limits on turrets? Otherwise this would lead to brokenness with turret rushing and selling expensive insured preplaced turrets for resources. u realize ai only have preplaced turrets bc they are too dumb to counter rushes, right?

cwwallis, do you think we could start with turrets placed already in OE4? Just a suggestion. In campaign, you see enemies starting with turrets placed already, without consuming energy. I was thinking that maybe after a battle, we have a chance of earning a turret card( or something like that) and being able to go into some kind of edit mode where we can start with already placed structures. This could be for a later update, but there's no hard feelings if you don't want to.

Miners. Many use ROF/SD/Cloak miners in PVP. Personally the SD/cloak damage is so negligiable it barely makes any difference. But, the lack of mininng output in the economy, does make a big substantial difference! So i use Rof/Rof/Range miners to have the miners do their job best - mining.
