Hey in OE4 will their be allies like 2 factions teaming to kill you or you an multiple enemies teaming to kill a MUCH superior version of the infection

As well , i'd like a real story for OE4.I'd like an endless mode too , maybe even a ship editor.Maybe you could even make an adventure mode? Also , will there be allies in OE4? I'd like to know C:

@rickrollreversed um, no. the number of ships that are useless vs phalanx (minotaur, myrmidon...) would only grow larger. what we really need is to change how the phalanx works, to make it more suitable vs artillery and saphires. Id say make it fire 2x lasers, but larger rounds(artillery) take 2 hits to kill. Also, half the rof on glads phalanx.

Im only on the lvl 9 boss but is there such a thing as an infester or cloud boss, if there isn't I think that it would be a nice addition to OBE 4

Or make Black hole and alien spores more cool like black holes open up a black hole and the buildings around it fall into it and with the alien spores make it so you can see the ships getting converted instead of it being instant?

"User-defined target isnt hard to do, !but! it IS very OVERPOWERED" It's not imbalanced if both players have it. It just makes for way different pvp. I understand the desire for full automation game, but user guided targeting would definitely make this a different game. I would support full automation for OE3 but I want to see what CWW does with it in OE4. I have been working on a mobile app like this except with targeting, so if he doesn't do it I will :D

Perhaps the best is to have the aiming ability having cooldown and duration, and make the main base immune towards it (you can aim structures/ships behind the base, but that will shorten the range the ship starts shooting, thus more time to kill it). Doesn't affect turrets that cannot reach the designated target, but affects newly produced ships as long the lockon is in duration.

@vovann1247 unfortunately, cwwallis has mentioned several times that it is "the plan" to eventually give units aiming and directional input. You can look up some of these posts of cwwallis' shouts page. Like you, I do not support this, we should drum some reason into cwwallis' head.

User-defined target isnt hard to do, !but! it IS very OVERPOWERED - just imagine what a good-aimed black hole would do, especially in multiplayer. Just imagine - an oponent builds a void lance and sets your base as main target -> you are scewed. And what about lasers? set main ratget and base and release goliath -> same. So very imbalance. If allowed to target then only in campaign(in my opinion) - there is already a big disbalance due to preplaced turrets and computer build speed increase.

I wouldn't think it'd be hard to let the user pick a target, overriding the 'shoot nearest ship' AI for all ships except miners until the target is dead or disengaged.

if you could control ships even a little, it makes the game extremely different. You could send all your carriers to sit behind your base spamming fighters, or send a cloaked hades right at the enemy station.

in OE4 it would be very very helpful if at the beginning before you start your 1st mission, you get to choose a hero ship, you choose one of the 3 ships they let you choose. my suggestion, the 1st ship, has aggressive stats,the 2nd has defensive stats, and the 3rd for supporting stats, and you can control them, if it gets destroyed it takes 120 seconds to revive (2 minutes) why so long? because so that people will be more careful.

I think in oe4 you should be able to select ships and tell them where to go. (with like a path or target destination). I think this could make attacks more interesting and prevent ships from doing stupid stuff you don't want them to do. Like if you think this would be a good idea.

@fauxreal the point of the life system is to encourage ppl to stop playing campagign after a while and go to multiplayer. Of course, skilled players like me rarely lose lives.

@Major having less range or speed on some units is very very positive! Think carriers or long range capitals, with 5-10 speed, just spam/buildup from far. Or think of a capital that has 50 range and cloaked, it starts shooting and uncloaks when its in your base, gameover
