It's a bit ridiculous honestly. It never takes into account the fact that the world would completely shut down if every airport and every shipyard was closed, not to mention the fact that the government wouldn't be able to regulate borders. Just look at Australia, or West Africa. That's hundreds of kilometres of clear coastline for desperate people to land on.
