Powerstart, Hipfaloft - you have to pay to sell symptoms/attributes because it is part of controlling your disease and how the world reacts. Taking away coughing, vomiting and sweating all reduce your diseases visibility, but you might need to buy them temporarily to help spread the disease!

Few changes to the walkthrough: a) Make sure you start off somewhere that gives you a climate, and build it up to IV (will make your disease spread like wildfire) and drug resistance to I (to prevent hospitals from working well while you get going). Then build the other two resistances to I b) If you want a little more infectivity with low visibility, coughing is good, but is a little expensive (4 pts) to sell. Sell coughing as soon as you infect 10-20k people. c) If you're going for 100 days or less (or even if you spread your disease relatively fast), don't take drug resistance up to IV. You really only need II since your virus will spread so fast and silently that by the time they start on the vaccine, hospitals will have already closed, and they will continue to close so quickly that the vaccine will be developed incredibly slow even without any resistance. If they get too close for comfort (within 10 days), then up it to III but you shouldn't need to go further than that.

Method:
Developed cold, heat, moisture to level 1, but did not develop drug resistance until later in game (this kept growth low which kept countries from closing borders)
Developed Airborne transmission early.
Symptoms were sneezing, coughing, and kidney failure.
Developed Heat and Moisture to level 2.
Luckily, Madagascar was infected shortly afterwards.
All but 3 countries were infected soon, then developed Waterborne transmission.
All countries became infected.
Added hypersensitivty.
Added sweating to cause hospitals to close before they could finish the vaccine.
After all countries were infected I began adding drug resistance to level 3.
As evolution points became available, I added more lethal symptoms to speed the killing.
