here's a bug that i've come across more than once:
the world develops a vaccine, and deploys it. it doesn't work. they start work on a new one. ... but the new one is never deployed. once you resist 1 vaccine, you're golden.
(except, of course, that by that time the world has -LONG- since locked themselves in their basements...)

Alazar say you went in to because you were sick (completely unrelated to the virus) but they found something unusual, they may think its nothing but once they find this harmless thing in the water supplies & in half the population of your country & all of the bordering ones they might think "Hey even if this doesn't do anything maybe we should stop it just in case" so they close the hand out water bottles etc. That realistic

Awesome game. Easy to understand, but lots of room to experiment and play around.
The only con is all the people that bitch about it and say what should be done to make it easier, as though you're supposed to unconditionally win games EVERY TIME YOU PLAY.

Had it at a 4/5 at first, but after more playing and realizing to beat the game is based solely on luck, i put it to 1/5.

MrMonomaku: How would you "test positive" for something you don't even know exists, and therefore wouldn't test for? Even if they DID find it for some reason, if it's simply a weird-looking new microorganism that does absolutely NOTHING, they would just think it was kind of odd. They wouldn't go "OH GOD, SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING"

oh, and Cuba had 0 population, everything was closed, but their hospital somehow produced a vaccine, and distributed it. Not sure how a hospital full of ghosts can distribute, or create, a vaccine, but there you have it.

I like the game, the execution, everything....except, of course, magagascar.....islands are nearly impossible to infect (australia, greenland, new zealand, japan, and madagascar)....I had 16 people total infected, and madagascar closed it boarders. 15 people infected, and Russia closed it's transportation system. 15. That's a little reactionary. Otherwise, it's a fun, strategic game. Just rather difficult to win, owing to the completely random chance of getting all the islands infected.

Note: Sometimes, even if a country/region shuts down it's seaport/airport, an en route ship or plane may still land there. I just beat the game, but only because an en route ship was almost to Madagascar when they shut down their seaport. I got in under the wire. My strategy was to use a virus, and made sure that I started in a region that gave me a free resistance. I got lucky and started in Cuba, getting the Heat Resistance I for free. I sold off my one symptom, and then waited to gather some evo points. I bought Airborne Transmission, and then the first level of all resistances. Then after I had enough points, I bought all the transmissions and up to Level 2 of Cold/Heat/Moisture, and Level 4 in Med Resistance. And then I waited for every region to get infected. By the time they were all infected, I had over 100 Evo points and bought all the nastiest symptoms.

They can tell its there without symptoms because people go for checkups at the doctors. I a lot of people in the country do this and test positive for an unknown disease, then they'll do something about it.

Madagascar needs an airport. Ships visit it much too infrequently, if you aren't lucky enough to spread to one of the ports that sends ships to Madagascar at just the right time (not too many infected) then they close the port.

I like to know how if a disease has ZERO visibility and ZERO symptoms, but yet somehow countries always know "something" is going on and start shutting down services.

it all depends on wat class u pick rlly. i mean i pick virus and max out resistance and then i dont get affeced by the vaccine

There is a whole lot of hopeless waiting in this game. At the start, I have to wait for my disease to spread (and hopefully to everywhere before it's discovered), and later there's just a wait game until people die, and I cry that whole time as countries stay clean and keep their borders closed. These things are not fun times, and they're 90% of the game.

The vaccine should not be some cure-all. You can change your whole disease and the thing still works. Make the vaccine require evolving to match new strains of your disease. 2/5
