I played the game through many times, Madagascar was infected once, Australia always evaded infection, and the one time I started as Madagascar I couldn't infect anyone!

F**k Madagaskar! I observed it the whole game and there is simply not a single ship leaving or incoming! Screw that programmer.. there's most likely a chance in a million to win, if a ship is lost and by chance strays on that f*** island.

1.) Pick Virus. 2) Start in Canada, New Zealand, Cuba, Greenland, West Europe, or Madagascar. If you do not get there restart. 3) Sell the starting symptoms, and buy sneezing (unless it is what you started with, just keep it). 4) Buy 1-1-1-0 resistances but no transmissions (they trigger closures). 5) Once four countries are infected, sell sneezing to get rid of visibility. 6) Wait until all countries are infected. If Madagascar closes its shipyards/borders or is not infected in 30 days, restart. 7) Buy all four drug resistances AND sneezing, coughing, and vomiting. 8) After a few days, unlock tiers 2-3, (do not buy tier 4 ever!) keeping whatever symptoms it gives you. 9) Buy fever, fatigue, diarrhea, pulmonary edema, and hypersensitivity. Then save for kidney failure and ataxia. 10) keep this comment alive Thanks for the comment! I got 13th of all time by using this method.

so, 22 days have pasted. close to 1m people have been infected. yet my virus has spread nowhere but where it started Madagascar.... its a shield to keep out and keep in.

You have to wonder how they spot an illness with no symptoms and why take action against something that harmless. It's not as if the government could know that it's just waiting for everyone to get infected before becoming the worst disease ever.

You think there would be at least 1 person out of 10 million infected that would want to go to Madagascar...but no, instead they all go to Hawaii, or Tahiti, or Figi, or some other tropical island. Well now i ask you, does it really matter? Just go to Madagascar so i win my game.

I used Naruto's strategy it mostly worked but the U.S closed and I couldn't infect anyone there. Although I bought all symptoms, to see what happened in 1 minute every infected country closed everything an started turning red.
