If you start in greenland, here's my guide to get the apocalyptic Pessimist badge:
!1)Pick VIRUS 2) start in Greenland 3)Get all first resistences and only fever. Sell Sneezing etc!
4)After some days, Your evolution Points should be like 15. Buy moisture resistance 2 and get sneezing, coughing and vomiting (aka everything in first Tier) 5)Wait some more days, unlock tier 2 and buy anything you'd like. Be sure to get Moisture and Drug resistance to four!
6)Then just click the fullspeed button and enjoy. Make sure you have all four transit upgrades...

You know, I really do love the concept in this game and it's sort of fun to fool around with, but at the same time I absolutely despise luck-based gameplay with almost 0 chance to influence the outcome. The number of times the random number god has screwed me (and clearly many others, noting the Madagascar memes) is just plain obscene. If only there was some skill aspect to the game rather than "do your best to improve your odds and pray". I just want so bad to be able to sing the game's praises, but not as it is.

Everytime I play Greenland always keeps everything open, infected or not. Is this a glitch or is it supposed to happen?

1.) Pick Virus. 2) Start in Canada, New Zealand, Cuba, Greenland, West Europe, or Madagascar. If you do not get there restart. 3) Sell the starting symptoms, and buy sneezing (unless it is what you started with, just keep it). 4) Buy 1-1-1-0 resistances but no transmissions (they trigger closures). 5) Once four countries are infected, sell sneezing to get rid of visibility. 6) Wait until all countries are infected. If Madagascar closes its shipyards/borders or is not infected in 30 days, restart. 7) Buy all four drug resistances AND sneezing, coughing, and vomiting. 8) After a few days, unlock tiers 2-3, (do not buy tier 4 ever!) keeping whatever symptoms it gives you. 9) Buy fever, fatigue, diarrhea, pulmonary edema, and hypersensitivity. Then save for kidney failure and ataxia. 10) keep this comment alive Thanks for the comment!
