1.) Pick Virus. 2) Start in Canada, New Zealand, Cuba, Greenland, West Europe, or Madagascar. If you do not get there restart. 3) Sell the starting symptoms, and buy sneezing (unless it is what you started with, just keep it). 4) Buy 1-1-1-0 resistances but no transmissions (they trigger closures). 5) Once four countries are infected, sell sneezing to get rid of visibility. 6) Wait until all countries are infected. If Madagascar closes its shipyards/borders or is not infected in 30 days, restart. 7) Buy all four drug resistances AND sneezing, coughing, and vomiting. 8) After a few days, unlock tiers 2-3, (do not buy tier 4 ever!) keeping whatever symptoms it gives you. 9) Buy fever, fatigue, diarrhea, pulmonary edema, and hypersensitivity. DDawn, it actually doesn't. That's an issue of annoyance I noted earlier. You only have New Game which tosses you back to the title, after which you have to reselect the mode, type and name. It would be awesome to have a Restart option (eg, instead of New Game, the Menu link is Quit Game, popup comes up with Quit Game (title), Restart Game (starts game but rerolls starting country) or you can hit the X in the top right to cancel), but nope, no go.

I absolutely HATE Madagascar. I missed getting the impossible badge by 1 damn day. That stupid country is almost impossible to infect. 1 damn shipyard and they close down quickly. It's like you have to start in Madagascar to have any chance.

got the impossible badge.. :D i used this guide, hope it works for you too. i started in new zealand after a few restarts, and boom! my disease spread everywhere.

ItIsDone, there is a speed up option. It's those 3 circles next to the pause button. The first one is normal time, the 2nd makes time go quicker and the 3rd..well..even quicker than the 2nd.

This game isn't strategy at all, cause it's based upon a simple luck (read: random), with out it, it's just hours of stupid randomizing. I always use the maximum speed, because you can't do anything about the closing migration thing. So, it means that you are taking only a little part of the whole process, the remaining part is just an automatic playing. Also, the Realistic mode is even easier then the Relaxed one, cause governments are acting much earlier (because of the higher infection rate), but in total they are the same, so it's kind of useless to make them both... But despite of those minuses, this game is still a fun to play at and it has some potential and interesting ideas (except some variances between the real world and this virtual world, like the closing of the "invisible" airport in Madagascar and in other counties that doesn't have it too, the same goes for the shipyards)...
