I don't know if it's just me, but when you start in a region that you know isn't gonna win you the impossible badge, selecting "new game", then "realistic", then "disease class" and finally "disease name" feels like it takes an age and a half with all that damned menu fade time. And combine that with the fact that you're gonna have to try for hours to get the badge...well...let's just say that I don't like the starting menu format. :P

Looks like keeping the resistances no more than level II, and sticking to zero symptoms and only rodent and insect transmission, I was able to sneak it to most countries before anyone figured anything out. I got Madagascar finally!

The guide that is being posted does work, but results will still vary due to the large luck factor involved. It is as solid a strategy as you can get with a game like this. The high infenctivity rates are capable of outracing closing borders/shipyards/airports on a good game and from there you just have to make sure drug resistance is maxed to increase lethality from symptoms.

Starting from madagascar does not help. you'll have trouble infecting countries like peru and indonesia. =.= personally I like viruses, cuz it's easier to infect other countries. BAH the chain mails dun work. dun follow it.

Game has the ability to be ok, but when borders, airports, and shipyards get shut down and there is no visibility of the virus and no leathality it is just stupid.. If you can't detect it then how do you decide to shut down everything?

Great game.
The way I won was this,
1.Pick Virus, it's the only one that will spread fast enough
2. Make sure you get Cuba or Greenland, the disease spreads faster in Cuba.
3. Sell all your symptoms, and buy 1/1/1/0 Resistances, and waterborne Transmission.
4. Wait until your disease spreads to nearly every country, buy sneezing when you get close.
5.Now all countries are infected. Buy Coughing, Fever, Vomiting and tier 2/3.
6. Start with Hemmegoring and Kidney Failure, and Pulmonary Edema.
7. People will now die, spend any other points you have on symptoms from 2/3, making it more lethal.
8. REMEMBER- when the vaccine is created, PUMP Drug Resistance to 4, this should make the days to completion around 900,and when more people die, mine actually read "Infinity"

I tried "The Formula" about 20 times before giving up on it. This won't get you the Impossible but it got me Hard (heh)
Pick Parasite, I started in Canada (by fluke)
Immediately bought level 1 cold, heat, moisture
as you can buy them, get all the transmissions
next get heat and moisture 2
Here's the amusing part, Madagascar closed the port, I was pissed, waited to see what would happen and....Madagascar infected!
Gub's started vaccine, so next buy all 4 levels of Drug resistance
all countries infected
at this point I just randomly bought things to infect and kill as I could afford them. My choices in this order:
sores, fatigue, boils, depression, hemorrhaging, hypersensitivity, and at the very end of the game vomiting
So hopefully that'll help, if it works, copy paste and credit ME, MALIZZLE! :D

Yeah, I agree with that. They should make a game that is the reverse of pandemic. Call it 'apocalypse' or something. Deciding when to burn people, when to cut water supplies etc.
