I bet more than half the tools reposting the "strategy" and proud of "beating" the game are playing the relaxed mode. It would also be nice if this super "strategy" included which transmissions to buy or not, but it doesn't.
THE GAME IS RANDOM.
Very sad to see it has such a high rating. Slick interface, yes, but much of it has no effect on the game, which seems to run well on the surface, but clearly has tons of deisgn flaws. ONE STAR

DO NOT BUY SNEEZING if you start on Greenland or New Zealand. They have very low thresholds for infecting other reasons so you don't need it. Did it in under 90 days from New Zealand with no sneezing and Greenland is even faster. Just have to get lucky and get a ship to Madagascar.

I like pie. Pie is better than this game. But this game is still pretty good, just pie is better... To change my mind, CHANGE THE VICTORY CONDITION SO THAT EVERY GAME IS NOT DETERMINED BY INFECTING MADAGASCAR OR NOT. Ahem, the balance is all wack. Let me just drop a nuke on that tiny island after I've infected several other nations with my mind controlling symptom.
One other thing, this game would be a definite 5/5 with zombies. wink wink

In Realistic mode, it seems that you spend about 20-30% of your time hoping your disease spreads to the entire world, and 70-80% of your time praying that you'll manage to kill them all before the big 100... I just infected the whole world in realistic in like 30 days, and STILL didn't manage to do it... seriously make people DIE a little quicker won't you? I mean, COME ON!!!

This took several times to work. When it worked, I had the 'biohazard' trait (very infectious, a bit more noticable), and I didn't use sneezing. Thought Peru was about to close its borders, but it only closed its non-existent shipyards and borders, so it was ok. Finished on day 65- the symptoms don't need anything like as long as they have to finish the world off.
