I used parasites and started in japan, my plan was to spread my desiease without ANY symtoms and when it was everywhere i would start to kill people but madagascar closed up really fast and mexico got it but my heat resist wasent high enough so it died. But i had gotten that far so i added some symtoms and the very moment the first person died the whole world started taking percautions like crazy, but moral of the story is even though your visibilty is as low as possible, madacascar will still close so madacascar is the best starting place because its the only place you can win from

Wow I've had it with this game. It's not even fun anymore. There is no strategy involved except for selling your symptoms and seeing if you're found out but 3/4 of the time you're spotted after about 3 contries even with visibility at 0! You might as well play the lottery the good it'll do you. You try something you wait, you usually fail. The pattern just keeps repeating. I'm really dissapointed with this game. My original 5/5 rating goes to a 1.5/5. Yeah it's harsh but I mean come one. Disease is spotted in russia. United States shuts down borders. Japan shuts down borders. Russia begins to spray pestisides. Madagascar closes all ports.
And it just keeps happening and happening. I'm sorry but I just can't say I enjoi this game. =/

Very nice, but beeing a biology student, there's much to be revised, added, deleted. still is a very nice game. madagascar sure sucks... they're so superior compared to all the rest of the world.

Governer of Madagascar: Sir
President: Yes?
Governer: Someone is Canada has a runny nose!
President: CLOSE EVERYTHING!! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!! AHHHH

but the worst thing of the game is:
when you start to spread to many countries, you start to be noticeable, this virus is so moron to try to spread to all the world before ;]

manipulativeJack. have you actually tried that sneak tactic? This is "standard", everyone does this, sell all symptoms, buy a bit resistence wait, then its a say 1 in 50 you infect madagascar.
I wonder, why this is worth a badge just hoping you get a 1 in 50 lucky roll. Where each roll takes 30 minutes of your time to find if it worked..

Wow, no one seems to really understand this game. There is quite a bit of strategy involved... have you tried NOT getting your disease noticed and building up some points to work with... or do you just buy all the deadly stuff right away? You have to think like a disease... sneak, infect, build... wait till you are in every country BEFORE you become deadly and noticable... come on people! This game rocks.

Parasites FTW!!! lol
i managed to infect the whole world without anyone noticing x]
Awesome game. Oh and btw, Madagascar, I HATE YOU.

I think most people agree this game has no strategy involved. Hoping a country, Madagascar, gets infected is not strategy. This game isn't really a game though. There's no real action involved, just click and hope for the best. It's more of a simulation. It is bad that this game has gotten the card and 4 badges when there are plenty other games a lot better than this. Bad Greg!

Honestly, I’m surprised this game was picked for a card. All you do is click buttons and watch dots fly around the world. The programming seems a little flawed too; example: I had a virus in South Africa. I gave it the insect and rodent upgrades, not the other two, and somehow, my virus appears in India, Greenland, and Australia. Oh, and also: If you remove all symptoms, people still see the virus and freak out.
However much work you put into this, it really doesn’t matter if the concept is horrible.
Oh, and really the only “strategy” in this is restart until you start in Madagascar. If you can, anyway.
THis is un-freaking-believable! Is it even possible to avoid the vaccine! I’ve played like 15 times and everytime no matter what I do the vaccine works perfectly! And it always starts developing like after 2 contries are infected! THis is total BS. This could be a 5/5 if it wasn’t so unlucky! Hmph I hardly call this strategy. >=(

Country's should be able to reopen border, port etc. Especially if you sell off traits of the virus so it cannot no visibility. This would open up the strategic element of the game to allow Madagascar to be brought to their deaths.

DAMNIT!! I started off as Madagascar, awesome i know. All i needed was one country, indonesia. All the other countries had 0 healthy, and indonesia still had borders open so it was just a matter of time. Then i accidentally hit refresh button on keyboard :( all my hard work was gone :'(

I think the frustration with this game is that you want so badly to interact with it, but there's really nothing to do. I believe there is a single strategy that works, it's just hidden by giving the player choices. I think the concept of this game will inspire people, but I hope there are new levels of interactivity that can be created.

I agree with VUQuadrophenia. There is barely a strategy to this game other than don't be too visible and hope Madagascar, Australia, and New Zealand get infected before they close their borders. Not much player involvement. Idea is really cool, but need to find a way to make it more interactive.
