F'in weak. Hurricanes should blow airborn viruses around, riots/rodents should IGNORE closed borders, waterborn should ignore closed shipyards, etc. It's too hard to get the damn thing to spread. And shouldn't countries need open borders to get, ya'know, FOOD once and a while? International commerce DOES go on.

(CONTINUED.)[6] Once the disease has spread everywhere, (you should have a bunch of pts. saved by now) Upgrade resistances to lvl2 or lvl3. Upgrade your symptom list however much you like and buy a variety of symptoms to kill off the population. 5-6 symptoms should be enough. I noticed that once I got up to 4 symptoms ppl started dying, so just do whatever it takes till you start to see ppl go
The key is maintaining a low visibility during the beginning while you spread the infection to all the countries. Note: if you get noticed and a country closes it's ports/borders before you manage to spread disease there, you will need to restart because there is no way you can win once things start shutting down in regions you have not infected. I had to restart several times before I won.

@SEVERANCE616: I managed to kill everyone, got the hard badge (relaxed mode). It actually wasn't that hard. The main objective is to infect all the regions undetected, then once every country is infected, raise the lethality to kill everyone off. Basically this is the strategy I followed (Spoiler Alert: don't read if you want to figure this out for yourself)....
[1] Start with a parasite (low detection). [2] Sell off any and all symptoms you start with. For now, don't buy any new ones. [3] Buy rodent and insect transmission (airborne and waterborne will make you more noticeable) [4] Upgrading any resistances past lvl. 1 or 2 is not necessary (I did: cold=1/heat=1/moisture=1/drug resistance=1 or 2) [5] Then wait (awhile). With some luck, the disease should spread to all regions with very little detection. (CONTINUED.)

Yeah, it's weirdly easy to kill every country except Madagascar. A little too easy. And it's kind of a boring game, because I have to find other things to do while i'm waiting to rack up evolution points. Dishes await!

I've tested this game alot.
Here are my findings:
I started in Japan, I only used the sneezing symptom once my disease spread to china and indoneisa. When I did that, there was 15602 deaths. I left the comp for five min on the minimum speed. When I came back, there were about 10000 deaths...

I think the overall opinion of this game would be higher if there was more interactivity in the game play. Such as choosing where you start.
