the only strategy is to use bacteria, reload until your disease spawns in madagascar, then sell all your tier 1 symptoms, buy all tier 1 resistances. let a good amount of people in maddy get infected, then buy insect infection then rodent. sit back and let the world get infected-- then start buying deadlier symptoms.

AcidFlux: I've tried that exact strategy repeatedly - it's good to hear that it sometimes does work. But I've had Magadascar and Japan close their borders as soon as it spreads to other countires, even without buying any symptoms and selling the ones I started with. That was the perfect strategy for previous versions of the game, but here I continually fail even when I do everything "right."

Beat the game twice, with a virus. It can be done. Start a new game, and hope for a country with both seaports & airports, and one that gives you a free resistance (i.e., Durable Trait). Keep your visibility very low (don't buy any symptoms, and sell any that you happen to start with) First purchase should be Airborne transmission. Then get Level 2 Resistances (first upgrade your 'natural' resistance, then upgrade the others). Then buy all the other transmissions (water, insect, rodent) Then max out drug resistance to Level 4). Sit back and wait and hope that you spread to all the countries. As soon as you are in all countries, upgrade your symptoms for higher infectivity, and then upgrade for higher lethality. It is important to upgrade infectivty first. If the world begins to develop a vaccine, don't worry. As they begin to shut down hospitals to prevent the spread of the disease, they actually extend the required time to complete the vaccine.

Madagascar closes its borders when someone sneezes in Japan. Hurricanes hit Greenland. A disease with vomiting, fever, and 3 other symptoms yields no deaths. And nobody naturally recovers from the disease. Yet the game has the balls to call it'S hard mode "REALISTIC" HAaahahahahahahhaa
Fix the game, then you can get maybe 4 stars.

Has anyone beaten this game without starting in Madagascar? I'm really curious - I think it's 99% unbeatable. And how do you get the other traits? It doesn't seem like you can earn them.

the game is nice, but once a country panics and closes it's borders, airports and shipyards, there's no way to get through there.

I don't like it because it is too dependent on LUCK, not strategy. A sim should be more than just a random number generator with graphics.

yes yes im awesome lol. check my profile if u dont belive me. buy all resistances and transmission in that order. then when everyone or almost everyone is infected start buying symptoms at random. that makes it harder to make a vaccine and longer

This dude has Put too mand flaws in this game Like madagascar for example: Some Asain in Japan has diarrhea And then russia calls and says *Oi Madagascar theres a virus called Ur Gay coming ur Way* What r you going to do? and before you know it...............*BOOM* Madagascar locks it self away from the world!

Nice concept, but as others note, too much reliance on luck. If you make a number 3, maybe make it so certain infection methods bypass certain things. It would also be more realistic if multiple strains of the disease existed simultaneously; if an evolution occurs in one place, it takes awhile to spread elsewhere. To balance things back out, evolution points should accumulate much faster as the infected population rises, since more disease=more chances to evolve.
