Nailed it on 86-th day. Started in Greenland and followed Nauto98001's tips. Btw ship arrived in Madagascar few seconds after they closed the port, so when you see it happen give it a few seconds before clicking "new game".

OMG! If i got Madagascar as starting place there are allways 2 other countries wich wont get infeceted. If i have another starting place its allways Madagascar wich wont be infected.
In relaxed mode i did it with first try but now i sit here for 1 hour to do the same for realistic mode.

I didn't realize that Madagascar was more shut off from the world than North Korea. Upon starting in Madagascar, I infected the entire country before the infection spread elsewhere.

Suggestion: It would be helpfull if the minimap would be seperated into regions and coloured like the map itself. Then it's much easier to follow the progress and have an idea as to where your virus is spreading.

Here are a couple hints for beating the game. First, symptom tiers 1 and 2 have mostly symptoms that increase infectivity and visibility. Tiers 3 and 4 have mostly symptoms that increase lethality and visibility. Second, you don't need to start in Madagascar to win. In fact, it is easier if you don't. Just remember that to infect Madagascar easily you need high heat resistance and be transmittable by insects ('cus Madagascar is a hot jungle). Third, don't get moisture resistance 2 AND the waterborne trait unless you already have most of the regions infected. If only a few regions are infected, all it takes is one water supply to shut down airports and shipyards. Also, don't let your disease have an explosion of infectivity. If the numbers of the infected jump from 1,000 to 100,000,000 in a few days, country borders will quickly close. Finally, don't worry too much about visibility early on. As long as the disease is still confined to a few countries, borders won't close.
