Very, very enjoyable. I think if you made the game a bit longer, and not so dead-ended, it might be a bit better, though.
I also think the diseases shouldn't spread by countries, but by regions. It might be a bit more precise without being to complex.

MADAGASCAR - no deaths, no visable symptons, keeps shutting the port and when that happens no infection 0/5 as impossible except for luck srarting at MADAGASCAR

Ok, how come I've infected 5 billion people with a disease that causes peoples' lungs to fill with fluid yet not one single person has died yet? Are there no old and frail on this alternate earth? Did the survivors of krypton wipe out the human race and replace them?

@gamehazard- different parts of the country for your second post, and for the first one, Canada has Alaska in it's general vicinity... wouldn't it be silly for the disease to spread to Alaska from the U.S., for example, if Canada had closed all transportation? And to start, a real easy way to get a lot of points- Sell your traits that show the people are infected- You don't really have to worry about a vaccine, just build up resists and ways to spread.

Yes its very beatable
The key is to become subtle coughing at the most
The come out with necrosis after you've infected every country

gamehazard, it makes sence that the maker made alaska part of canada for the game i mean think about it its not connected to the U.S.A so if the U.S. gets infected that doesnt mean canada is because its in in a completely different place

gamehazard think a second.. A COUNTRY IS HUGE drought near where i live but a flood a few hundred miles from me.. SAME COUNTRY

Nice game. A bit more of interactivity would be nice, too, even if you have to sacrifice a bit of the realism.
Two things, though. I probably missed the point, but what's the advantage of buying symptoms that only increase visibility? And is it possible to win the game if they discovered a successful vaccine that was fully deployed?

The difference Chirs is a virus isn't living. A disease (caused by bacteria) is. But it is a simple living system, and parasites are much more complex

and why is alaska part of canada on the map? i mean, when you put your cursor over the U.S., alaska doesn't light up.

Water travels further. Airborne usually only infects in close proximity to whoever puts it into the air - further away than a couple of feet and it disperses into the air too widely, and it travels slowly. Water gets piped long distances and stays more concentrated.

I remember reading an article about games, saying that "A game is basically making interesting decisions".
The game has great presentation, concept and good interface... But where are the decisions? I feel I have nearly no control.

some countries need to not shut things down so fast... you can kill everyone on earth, yet some tiny little area will survive, and there's no way to infect them. It gets really annoying.

also a better (and slightly more realistic) way to portray things on the map would be to have a PHYSICAL (not political) map and have a multi-colored infection-density blob flow across it. That way, you have a better idea of how your disease is killing people.

Another thing how can the vaccine save everone if all transportaion has stopped????? How would the vaccine get from country to country??
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
people are more resilient than this! coughing/vomiting/sneezing kills millions of people? I think NOT. Although this could be one of those "Reality is Unrealistic" tropes...

not astoundingly good... what are disasters for, looking nice? I find no difference between disasters and not (although it could help infection...). Bugs (i.e. closing borders to the common cold, burning nonexistent bodies) could be ironed out.

fun idea but too easy, on realistic it took all of about 15 minutes to infect the whole world and with my lethality bar barely filled they all started dying, wasn't long after that till it was over
