I tried zcollvee's strategy (which i'd seen posted before), but even when my virus had no symptoms, five countries with no borders closed their ports (both ship and air) before becoming infected.
Parasite might work better, since it's less noticeable. Although I don't understand why the disease carried by the biggest kind of antigen wouldn't actually be _more_ noticeable.

following regions and either coughing orsneezing as asymptom.Madagascar,
Greenland, Brazil, US, Russia, China, New
Zeland, Japan. Also note this strategy work
best with virii.. Buy all resists lvl 1 starting
with drug and working right. Then buy
moisture2 and drug up to 4. 3b.If you start in
one of the larger regions with 2 airports and
a bigger population, you may want to sell a
bit earlier. It takes some getting used to.4.
Don’t do anything except wait until you get
every country infected. Then buy some of
the tier 1 and 2 infectivity and lethality
symptoms as well as waterborne
transmission. Waterborne transmission is
ESSENTIAL!5. Once you have 2 billion
infected and have enough, buy one of the
tier 3 symptoms that has high lethality. Then
spend the rest of your points buying side
effects that are cheap and increase lethality,
like depression, fatigue, or dimentia.

Maxing out the resistance (all of it, including heat and drug) helps delay the vaccines, usually by making the completion at least 300 days

I think the gameplay would be better if symptoms explained in very specific terms and numbers what their effects were instead of being a grab bag of twisted medical sense. Regions could also use some data about the humidity and heat there.

what was amusing is madagascar sent out a ship which went north to india turned round to go south around austrila went all the way north to go round russia, then went around canada, america and brazil to go north past cuba to eventually get to canada.. wtf is with that journey, they should make more sense than that.
as well as that there was a ship going round and round in circles at one point for the rest of the game.

i got airborn water born and rat and insect, full resistances, no symtoms..... and yet everybody shuts down everything... wtf!?!?!?!? "aaaaahhh im infected with a virus that does nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! alert the authorities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! close the airports!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awww man, no way, i had all coutries infected so started making it resistent and deadly and then 2 seconds later one of the contries is gone clean again D: it took ages kinda bleh as i dont like these kinda games... damn i nearly had the hard badge... :(

Yes, it actually can still be infected, but only for a short period of time. That is if there already was a ship on it's way to Madagascar when it closed down. There won't be any ships afterwards though, so best hope you're lucky.
