started in madagascar, infected everybody but america, had 2 random ships stuck in the atlantic ocean. my one thought is, why does a disease not infect a water supply just randomly, if the disease's waterborne/airborne?

easy way to infect the whole world is sell all symptoms and build up resistances and transmissions then when very country has got the disease put in the syptoms to kill them off

Anyone notice that unlike the other countries, Madagascar's population doesn't go up and down for births/deaths? They're immortal and they don't reproduce.

Ships, and hence infecting Madagascar, are very, very buggy. If you watch ships, their path-finding algorithm barely works. Many ships will just sail around the globe, never making port, until they just run off the screen.
Watching Madagascar in particular, it seemed to send out one ship every 8-9 days and received one every 35-40 days. That seems to be at least an order of magnitude slower than any other port I've watched in my dozen or so plays.
After the third "Realistic" game where I killed the entire population of the globe with a virus except for Madagascar, I'm done. Until there is an update released this is just way to boring, opaque, and buggy to spend any more time playing it.

Madagascar sucks....I can never get the disease to infect it. Greenland wasnt very smart, they never did anything...must be why they were the first country to fall.

and upgrading to airborne means i can get on a plane and infect people when i land? viruses infect from person to person or through air and water, not from a plane...

wow, this is'nt very realistic... i cant get to australia because they have shut down their harbors... i can spread through water, and that means i need ship to spread through water?!?

If all the active hospitals are in regions which are sealed off from the rest of the world (which they'd pretty much have to be by the time it's developed) how is the vaccine deployed?

I think this game is quite good and a worthy sequel.
Everyone complaining about how places shutting down and all that need to rethink their strategy in this =P. The game has replay value in it, it's challenging and it makes you think. I like the graphics, very simple and effective. After many tries I finally managed to kill humanity, it's something I've always enjoyed! Anyways, aside from the music which got a little annoying after an hour or so of it, I give this game a nice 8/10. Good work!
P.S, ever thought about doing a zombie spin-off of this game?

Does drug resistance increase the time to vaccine completion, or does it have some impact of the infection and lethality rate? It's not clear if it's worth the points, if I can get all the hospitals close anyway.

also after the infection, the more people die, the more black the colour of that region gets. There is no distinction between infection and death.

sure you CAN get lucky and infect them, but usually they shut down shipyards as soon as ANYTHING is fishy somewhere, and nobody ever seems to go there-...
