This game has great potential that is never met. The premise of choosing and evolving a deadly virus/bacterium/parasite and killing the world makes my heart warm inside. Furthermore I do not particularly mind that it is occasionally unrealistic as I'm usually willing to sacrifice this for good gameplay. But here we find the Achilles' heel in Pandemic 2. Where gameplay is encouraged, it is staggered, having to chop through menus for information that I find myself constantly wishing to be accessible from the main screen. But even this is forgivable. What is unforgivable is the fact that in order to succeed as a stealthy, omni-infectious disease, the game asks to player to wait. And I don't mean a couple minutes. In fact you are consistently encouraged to do nothing, waiting hopefully to infect some other country. I won't even get into Madagascar. All in all I cannot condone a game that asks the player to do nothing for the bulk of the time. 2/5

I have a whopping 327 people infected worldwide, no symptoms, and yet at least four countries have shut down public transit...?

Also, there is a glitch where greenland will continue to work on the vaccine even after everyone in the country is dead. Zombie Doctors FTW!

I completely eradicated everyone.. mwahahah. Even Madagascar. The trick is to keep your visibility at zero and only have your virus/bacteria/parasite infect people. Once you get into every country, then turn on the killing symptoms. Of course they'll start a vaccine once you get so many countries, but just ignore it. Once you start killing, it will take them forever to make it because all of the hospitals will be down. Then its just a waiting game until everyone dies.

This is a great premise, but the execution comes down to a lot of waiting and sometimes unavoidable failure through sheer bad luck. Refugee movements after a natural disaster, awareness of the sheer permability of large borders, and less closing of borders and airports in response to nonfatal diseases with no symptoms would be welcome...

awesome game, however madagascar is hard to infect. I've only infected it twice, once when I beat the game, and the other, when madagascar was my home country.

Am I right in saying that the game modes are incorrectly written about? The simple mode has alot of traits for a virus, whilst the full mode has only two. Contradicting the game modes themselves?

@space6011: You aren't really 'selling' symptoms so much as you are removing them. This is usually done to reduce the visibility of the disease. In essence, you are paying to mutate the disease carrier. It costs points whether you are adding or removing symptoms.

threr is visibility even if its not there, put resistance to zero and put no symptoms and only 1 way of spreading at a time

Fun, but very difficult. 0% lethality and visibility, yet the whole world shut down. I have a hard time working with that. Also, Madagascar is the most ridiculous place on the planet. 1 person gets infected, they shut the whole place down, even if it's in Russia. Other than that, very fun.

Madagascar has borders to shut down. Airports and hospitals to close. Someone get me a magnifying glass I think I'm missing something.
2/5 stars until this game is finished/fixed up.
