Madagascar needs an airport. Ships visit it much too infrequently, if you aren't lucky enough to spread to one of the ports that sends ships to Madagascar at just the right time (not too many infected) then they close the port.

I like to know how if a disease has ZERO visibility and ZERO symptoms, but yet somehow countries always know "something" is going on and start shutting down services.

There is a whole lot of hopeless waiting in this game. At the start, I have to wait for my disease to spread (and hopefully to everywhere before it's discovered), and later there's just a wait game until people die, and I cry that whole time as countries stay clean and keep their borders closed. These things are not fun times, and they're 90% of the game.

The vaccine should not be some cure-all. You can change your whole disease and the thing still works. Make the vaccine require evolving to match new strains of your disease. 2/5

best form to win (only 1 i think): choose parasite, then remove the starter syntom (if it costs 4 or more reset, if u start without resistances 2), get cold, heat and miswathever to lvl 2, then drug to lvl 4, then wait for every country to have at least 1 infected person and buy the transmisions, later when every country is in red buy synptoms

LMFAO @ plastiqe, well played. :) i just started in madagascar and STILL LOST. somehow Argentina closed everything, and indonesia, australia and new zealand were untouched. how does a virus with no symptoms, zero visibility and zero lethality cause all the governments to shut everything down??

Choose a virus. Delete all possible symptoms you may have. Evolve ALL resistances to level 1 (DO NO GET 2). Wait. Wait. Wait. The entire world will be infected (even madagascar). Evolve your symptoms. Win.

wow that was amazing. i made my parasitehavelvl 4 drug resistance, lvl1 of the other three resistances, and all the transmissions. opened all the tiers, the bout the heart failure and within 30 secons (real time) i had killed 500 million people.

This game has great potential that is never met. The premise of choosing and evolving a deadly virus/bacterium/parasite and killing the world makes my heart warm inside. Furthermore I do not particularly mind that it is occasionally unrealistic as I'm usually willing to sacrifice this for good gameplay. But here we find the Achilles' heel in Pandemic 2. Where gameplay is encouraged, it is staggered, having to chop through menus for information that I find myself constantly wishing to be accessible from the main screen. But even this is forgivable. What is unforgivable is the fact that in order to succeed as a stealthy, omni-infectious disease, the game asks to player to wait. And I don't mean a couple minutes. In fact you are consistently encouraged to do nothing, waiting hopefully to infect some other country. I won't even get into Madagascar. All in all I cannot condone a game that asks the player to do nothing for the bulk of the time. 2/5
