The place were your virus starts in is random, completely and randomly chosen by the internet and your computer. Maybe your coputer is racist.

Guys, the government and the world start to notice the virus, regardless of visibility or symptoms when your virus reaches the number of 50+ evolution points. Its how well you spend your points that determine how fast and effective your destroy the planet.

i read on another website a strategy that sounds really good...get all of the transmissions and sell all of your symptoms.

Diseases that spread by insect and/or rodent should have some chance to jump borders (including small bodies of water, ie South Africa to Madagascar) even when border are closed. Also governments don't shut down their borders against diseases, even pandemics, with no or minor symptoms, i.e. the common cold or HPV.

the game is cool, but it is not realistic (even on realistic mode). The governments start developing vaccines for virus with no visibility and no symptoms, and close every airport and shipyard...

i agree with...EVERYBODY. you gotta fix the transmission bugs. they don't do anything even though people say they do. and how does every country in the world INSTANTLY know to exterminate or hand out stuff?...that's annoying. and the waterborne infections should cross oceans.

choose parasite, start a new game until you start in madagascar, then sell all your symptoms, then get all ways of transport, then all immunities. infect the world, then buy liver failure and encephalities. its pretty dang simple lol

I quite enjoyed this little peice of strategy. Once in a blue moon i'll play something that requires thinking and strategy, and Pandemic just happened to be that game. Now, I finished on Relaxed mode, i don't know about Realistic yet, but i have one of the best strategies, courtesy of my friend "crushy". His strategy got the world killed in under 100 days on Relaxed, so I may have a shot at the impossible badge. Thanks for making this game, i greatly enjoyed it.

huge balance issues make this game from a great game into a piece of crap. it;s fun, but you can never accomplish anything.

sell symptoms max out transmission and resistance stats then wait till 45th day then choose all fatal symptoms thats how u get impossible badge

...i finally got madagasgar 2 start and stupid indoneasia has 2 not get infected and make a working vaccine!omg, y god? -.-
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Per a badass YouTube clip - it works, folks...: 1) Sell initial symptoms 2) Take environmental resistances to level 2 3) Take drug resistances to level 4 4) Wait for it to spread to all countries 5) Max all transmissions 6) Choose your symptoms 7) Win

Mapper, with hard I conside skill I can develop to beat something "hard", but "hard" meaning in just be lucky is stupid shit. Yes yes I know the tactic, sell symptoms, don't be visible, but there is 0 skill further involved, only luck. Therefore this badge was a ***** stupid decission.

no it is not possible, also, madagascar is horrible as a starting place. Why? how many boats do you ever see leaving madagascar? thats how many other countries get infected.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the card was so ridiculously easy I laughed. Managed to kill the world after my 50th try. Madagascar is insane to try to get, its possible. that impossible badge is rightly named, it is going to be freaking hard to ge it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
alright idea for another badge u have to kill of the entire population with each kind of plague. :) badge name "Plague of Death

In response to Derek00000, I've beaten the game starting out in Indonesia, so Madagascar isn't the only place you can win from.

OK even if 2/3 of the population is infected how can madagascar see a disease with 0 visibility? How can you see what has no symoptoms?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I used parasites and started in japan, my plan was to spread my desiease without ANY symtoms and when it was everywhere i would start to kill people but madagascar closed up really fast and mexico got it but my heat resist wasent high enough so it died. But i had gotten that far so i added some symtoms and the very moment the first person died the whole world started taking percautions like crazy, but moral of the story is even though your visibilty is as low as possible, madacascar will still close so madacascar is the best starting place because its the only place you can win from

Wow I've had it with this game. It's not even fun anymore. There is no strategy involved except for selling your symptoms and seeing if you're found out but 3/4 of the time you're spotted after about 3 contries even with visibility at 0! You might as well play the lottery the good it'll do you. You try something you wait, you usually fail. The pattern just keeps repeating. I'm really dissapointed with this game. My original 5/5 rating goes to a 1.5/5. Yeah it's harsh but I mean come one. Disease is spotted in russia. United States shuts down borders. Japan shuts down borders. Russia begins to spray pestisides. Madagascar closes all ports.
And it just keeps happening and happening. I'm sorry but I just can't say I enjoi this game. =/

Very nice, but beeing a biology student, there's much to be revised, added, deleted. still is a very nice game. madagascar sure sucks... they're so superior compared to all the rest of the world.
