Its kinda funny. I learned that even though Madagascar is usually one of the first five countries to close its borders, it reacts slowly when you use the parasite class. Why is this? Probably because Madagascar IS a parasite.

I love how when the Canada is infected, the next place to get it is the States, but if the States are infected, Canada doesn't really get it until way later. Must be because none of Americans ever cross the border INTO Canada.

Jesus Christ.... When I played this game for like the first 3 times I got Madagascar for the start, and then when I learned that was the BEST starting place, I GET EVERYTHING BUT MADAGASCAR. T^T Opportunities wasted are gone forever... ~sigh~

One thing that makes no sense is that even when you only have sneezing, lots of places shut down their shipyards, hospitals, airports, and borders. This seems pretty darn unrealistic, no?

1.) Pick Virus. 2) Start in Canada, New Zealand, Cuba, Greenland, West Europe, or Madagascar. If you do not get there restart. 3) Sell the starting symptoms, and buy sneezing (unless it is what you started with, just keep it). 4) Buy 1-1-1-0 resistances but no transmissions (they trigger closures). 5) Once four countries are infected, sell sneezing to get rid of visibility. 6) Wait until all countries are infected. If Madagascar closes its shipyards/borders or is not infected in 30 days, restart. 7) Buy all four drug resistances AND sneezing, coughing, and vomiting. 8) After a few days, unlock tiers 2-3, (do not buy tier 4 ever!) keeping whatever symptoms it gives you. 9) Buy fever, fatigue, diarrhea, pulmonary edema, and hypersensitivity. Then save for kidney failure and ataxia. 10) keep this comment alive I went from Pandemic Noob to Pandemic Pro in a matter of seconds, this is THE BEST GUIDE EVER!

you can beat Madagascar by:

* Get rid of fever.
* Invest in cold heat and moisture. Once you are leveled up, then invest
in water and air. Depending on your location, I have gotten away with just
using water.
* Wait. Once all countries are infected, (Madagascar is rough) then invest in
sickness.

Nauto98001's tips are almost spot-on. I found I wasn't infecting other countries fast enough once I sold Sneezing, though. I'd always get borders closed with a few nations left uninfected. Try this if you're having trouble: buy Coughing and Sneezing from the beginning, as well as the three resistances, then don't touch anything until you get the vaccine warning. I was able to get the Impossible achievement this way.

A thousand thanks to you, Nauto! Your strategy and a lot of freaking luck won me my first Impossible badge. It was freaky too, I infected the entire world before anyone shut down anything. It was like one globe-trotting Cuban guy was just really interesting in traveling the world and spreading my disease.
