Under rating threshold (show) With the whole war thing implemented, would it be possible to achieve global domination in this game?

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

The US no longer annexes territory at the conclusion of wars, so no. I don't even think we do the protectorate thing like we did with Japan anymore.

balony67

Apr. 30, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Do we get any Resource bonus if we win a war?

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from delosford

I haven't really implemented rewards for winning one. It's kind of the assumption that the US will generally win, which means you should go to war mostly for the purpose of changing the government of the target country to one more friendly to us. It'll also generally improve their nation stats and relations with us such that trade will occur (which indirectly improves the nation).

Under rating threshold (show) if a war we started is won, the person who introduced the bill should recieve a relevant relic. also anyone who votes against this war should recieve a discount on cigars.

Under rating threshold (show) because even though they are in favor of the bill i don't think they'd like people taking bribes all around and ruining the reputation of the party as a whole

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

I think I designed it with the rationale that most aligned bills only loosely apply to your party, so your constituents might care if you're getting paid for it... whereas they wouldn't necessarily care otherwise. If you're getting paid for an in-party bill they of course don't care since your motives don't seem at all spurious.

Apr. 29, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) my liberal constituents object to me accepting a campaign contribution for decrerase protecting restrictions, but in the introduce bills page it is there. Why do I lose CS for this

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

If I recall, I purposefully made it so you'll lose CSP for contributions from non-party bills. It may be somewhat less restrictive than that, but I can't remember. I'll check into it to make sure.

Under rating threshold (show) The president makes me want to stab him, with being all like, "That's a nice bill you just passed, be a shame, if I veto it Mwahaha" then some person comes around and kills the rest of the bill. i think i should just stop doing bills that take sorta long for me to pass

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

It doesn't take the clout back or anything... it just won't apply to the nation. Additionally, if you override a veto you'll gain clout again.

Under rating threshold (show) so does that mean they only give slightly more clout than it costs to introduce them if they have minimal or no opposition?

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

No... it means they reward clout like a normal bill if they have minimal/no opposition.

Rhysdog

Apr. 28, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) what exactly is the "clout gain multiplier bonus for being a binary bill"?

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

As you may have noticed, binary bills award much more clout for being passed/acted upon.

Under rating threshold (show) 50000$ worth of drugs spent on that binary, no relic. I hate everything. Ever.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from delosford

If you're referring to the change I made, even without it you'd be far from guaranteed a relic. Most of the time even a relatively high chance at one is around 20-40%, and that's assuming you have no relics currently. But realistically, you should blame the people who have been gaming the system so long that I had to make the change.

Under rating threshold (show) You might want to look at the VIPs again... from the point of possible copyright issues

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

The game is mostly exempt from copyright on that topic due to a couple things: first and foremost, the game is satire. That alone is a valid defense against copyright claims. Second: copyright rarely applies to something like a fictional name. It DOES apply to something like a character which LOOKS like superman, though. That's why City of Heroes had issues and had to restrict people from creating likenesses of popular superheros (also consider that City of Heroes is not satire -- you're playing a superhero in as realistic of a way as possible). Finally, since they're now player submissions it gets a lot more difficult to claim I'm trying to do it to make money off of their success.

Most traits in the game represent something permanent/something about your character's past. They aren't something that's just going to change over time.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from delosford

I dunno. Drugs have enough drawbacks that their non-use confers some significant advantages. As for the trait, adding traits at this point would be a bad idea for a variety of reasons.
