Accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans also provide interest, so perhaps that similarity should exist here as well. You know, in the interests of realism.
Are you sure? I would wager that those accounts are not interest-earning and actually have a fee associated with them. Investments and savings accounts are very different.

you need to lower bank deposit fees. It doesn't take that much money to put money in the bank that is 1 1/4 weekly salaries. its too much. can you do something?

but the devs of WoW DO favor horde, and the devs of TOR DO favor the empire, and Q DOES favor... uh, the not red team?(i think)

As a Socialist, I lose consituent support for playing for a Tighten Immigration bill. I thought the Reds were isolationist?

On salary day, will the increase and decrease salary bills passed that day be taken into affect before or after salaries are given?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
When I played WoW, people accused the devs of favoring the Horde. In TOR they whine the devs favor the Empire. Congratulations on reaching real MMO status, Q.
It would still make cash too good. Assassinations have been carefully balanced over time to function in a way that I think is fair and gives significant survivability advantages to those that avoid drugs.

oh and by the way... having "Hacking the game is bad, mmkay?" come up when you lose connection and try to reload in game is annoying.
That comes up whenever any condition occurs that the back-end identifies as suspicious. Some mundane things can look inseparable from certain types of hacking to a computer algorithm. Sorry.

I know I've brought up similar things before, but under assassinations, we should be able to pay something like $125k for a cruddy amateur, $250k for a middle-of-the-road shooter (better than the current bums we're hiring), $500k for a real hitman, and $750k for an almost certain kill by a Jason Bourne-type pro. This gives us the option to pay more for better results, something I believe is direly needed. I think this range of pricing would be prohibitive enough to prevent too much abuse of the top two options. The way it would work in game mechanics is, after you select assassination, you're given the option of hiring these four different tiers with a brief explanation of each. I also think it should be harder to be caught in an assassination scandal if you hire the pros, rather than hiring your local hood; the hood will make more mistakes, get caught easier, and thus get YOU caught easier. Not so with Bourne. Anyway, give us better hitmen!
People have more money than you think. This would be a VERY crazy idea. Assassinations need to be pretty weak and exist mainly as a way of taking down otherwise untouchable people.

Guess who's going to stop playing this game because of your actions Q. Me and about half of Hegemony, some of your biggest promoters up till now. Good job.
You come in here accusing me of lying, changing the game without telling anyone and insulting me. I prove you wrong and you still come back with this crap? What "actions" are you even talking about? I just proved there were literally none.

JSYK, australia has a new PM, kevin rudd, from the same party as julia gillard
i mentioned it in global post a couple times, but i guess you didn't see it
So guess who's done being nice to your dumb ass? Hope you like looking like a fool. Do also note that this wasn't even close to the last part of the file I changed and you're still a month off.

the reds musta ****ed up their accounts for them to be passing this win bill for no d**n reason but hey, pick you characters better then you won't regret the choices you make. Because scandals are avoidable
Each button lets you cast a vote for one side of a particular issue. The winning side alters the bill accordingly, either by doubling/halving the effects or removing a poison pill.

So you are saying that you DIDN'T change it so that both forms of coke no longer have separate counts for how many you can take of each before ODing? Because you seriously ****ed a lot of people over with that change. And if you didn't change it on purpose now you know so please go fix it.
So basically you're saying that there's no possible way you could have computed something wrong and the server made a mathematical error? Because I didn't change anything, and you're looking pretty foolish right now. Nobody got fucked over by anything, you just didn't do your calculations right.
Also note that you will never get everyone to play along no matter what you do. A nontrivial proportion of the playerbase will always prefer playing mostly solo.

Q, I wanted to respond to your response. This isn't a complaint, but the cause is that the game doesn't actually incentivize team play to any meaningful degree. This is sort of like if WoW had raids, but the raid bosses dropped the same gear as normal mobs. It'd still technically be the same game, but almost no one would raid if they could solo for the same rewards.
There are actually a lot of strong incentives for team play. Most people just don't understand them. As players get more organized and learn more accurate information (partially from me eventually fixing help), it'll force more organization in other parties.

WHY YOU CHANGE THE OD MECHANICS WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE? DIRTY TRICK TO TRY TO GET THE WIN BILL TO NOT PASS. BAD Q, YOU GOT SIT IN THE CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE.
I'm sorry, what? I didn't change anything without notification. Nor have I changed anything with win bills since the last one was in Congress. What's with all the amazingly inaccurate information getting passed around these days?
I just realized you meant the overdose mechanics, which is even more of a farcical claim since I haven't touched that part of the code for longer than I can remember.

So, there needs to be a little more in the way of party leadership and unity. Make a page under Cronies, etc. for party platform. This page should show what your party's position is on binaries, as well as a general description of party philosophy. Maybe make an option on this page where we can elect a party leader and whip, and they can edit a section on the party platform page with additional information/instructions. Also, party leaders should be able to sticky in global.
People already don't even use team chat. The problem seems to be divisive interests and trust at a fundamental level more than anything. Not sure there's much I can do about that. The one thing I've been planning is the ability to block people from seeing your chats.

"You've suddenly begun getting all kinds of reports that some of your recent financial transactions went sour, turned out to be scams, etc. This has cost you $25484 in operating expenses" either I've been buying stuff in my sleep or my drug dealer doesn't use cash...

I typoed, both are spelled and cased exactly the same. Copy and paste from the game window, the player: Frank Underwood - the Sec.: Frank Underwood
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I see a player named "frank Underwood" and our Sec. of State is also named "Frank Underwood"... I thought a name could only be used once, is the player also our Sec. of State?
Sounds like a coincidence of mathematics. The alternative explanation of CSP is broken for you and nobody else seems unlikely. Gerrymander or do a public appearance and check if it changes after it goes off. I'm betting it does.

suggestion: anti poison pill, would be an accurate reverse of poison pill "if this bill passes i will donate $1000 to charity, anyone who doesnt support this bill hates charity."
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is it intended that poison pills make the win bill decay at the end of the day reset even if the bill is in committee?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Kalsions comment about ability decay was referring to the fact that Claim fiscal infeasibility was previously super effective on the win bill, and is now not very effective on the win bill. Is it intentional, or is there any way to reverse it?
I'm not sure why so many players have themselves convinced of so many wrong things about ability plays, but there is no ability decay, and there is no "super effective".
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wow. Someone was stupid enough to try to murder Q! I feel sorry for the guy that did that, because he did not know that he's got DEV POWERS!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have an idea, if someone passes a win bill you do little tweaks to the game based on the party. For example, if no good dirty rotten commies pass a win bill, instead "The secret service and police" Stopping assassins, it says "The Secret Police" Stopped assassins.

how do you have enough clout to buy abilities yet you can't buy rhetoric every time it becomes ineffective. Most people would think that this game is capable of 'casual' gameplay. But, since we are in a desperate situation i guess the reds need to be more prepared for sacrificing all the hard work to win a stupid yet excellent game!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I get it, hes HEAVILY using the rhetoric ability which gets weaker every time its played and stronger when other abilities are played.

Why are the times in the status box given in 12-hour time? I had thought at first that it was actually in the correct time zone for my location, but then at a closer look, it's still following clout time/CDT, but with AM/PM instead of 24 hours. is there a fix for this? it's rather confusing
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You lose everything not stored offshore if a win bill passes, we get invaded or if the state of the nation is bad enough.
