Not currently. Happiness has been pegged past 100% for so long I hadn't had much of a chance to consider what negative effects it might have, but a global reduction in reelection chance sounds like a good idea. I won't do it this election cycle as springing that on people a couple days beforehand seems a bit rude.

I'm French and i don't understand every thing but what i get it that's very funny, just the description of the politics party are hilarious. I think just add a background and a few color would help the game to be more populare like a soviet propaganda placard for the left socialist, good luck.
Thanks for the feedback and support! I've noticed a lot of people from foreign countries play. I see a lot of connections from Australia, Iceland, Scandinavia, and South America in the server logs. However, I can't draw and am not much of an artist in general, which is the primary reason for the minimalistic visuals in the game. The secondary reason is to make the game have the appearance of connecting to a MUD through a telnet client. If you don't know what a MUD is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD

I looked in the store but I can't find xXxEXTENDERxXx TURBO EDITION anywhere. I saved up my $359,820,000 and I'm self-conscious about my little congressman. Wat do?
In recent news, congressperson Warhero was arrested on charges of corruption. Authorities are reportedly questioning how exactly he managed to get more than a quarter of a billion dollars spending only a scant few years in office. More details at 10.

The two on top of the Hall of Shame (Adolph Stalin and Dwayne Camacho) made my day! Great game, would really like to see how it grows! Liked on FB, 5/5 and favourited!
Your clout tier is based on your lifetime clout gained, not the amount you currently hold. There is no advantage to stockpiling clout, except to appear on the leaderboards (or to save up for something). Clout is best spent on abilities until you have a good enough selection to always have at least 1 strong on the bills you want to pass. Due to the synergy bonus, you want to play as many different strong abilities on a bill as you can (meaning it's best to have LOTS of abilities).
It looks like your movement is losing a bit of steam now that people have taken a look at the country's happiness rating. And we dropped below Canada. CANADA. Even their money is worth more now!
Everyone knows they do repairs to the congressional offices and foundation using old, discarded bills. They estimate the foundation is like 50% failed bills now.

So many goddamn Nigerian princes... And someone who wants to make my 'little politician' bigger. I think I need a new email address. Now.
Unfortunately, a new address will not help you avoid the spam. You are a public official after all. However, I have decreased the frequency of spam mails such that they're now less common than a message from Deep Throat.
I'm sorry that grandma's zombie computer is spamming you so much D: I'll add more varied messages (though really, you were already pretty unlucky to have seen 2 of the same).
Abilities cost clout, not cash (note the different symbol next to the numbers. Technically it's the symbol for the Costa Rican currency, but I stole it FOR FREEDOM GOD DAMNIT)
I can't reproduce this issue. Are you depositing at least 125,000? There's a javascript warning if you try to do that which should stop page submission, but if you've disabled javascript you will only get the server-side error.
That would be too ugly to be readable and would confuse the other visual indicators. It also wouldn't follow the interface design of having all links be white/red. It also wouldn't even be helpful information, as a person's party doesn't really matter when you're acting on their bill; only the bill affiliation does.

I'm not exactly sure if this feature already is in place, but I suggest that scandalous activities (like doing meth and all those things) be removed from your counter after a period of time.
If you're implying that LD3H and I are the same person, I can assure you we're not. LD3H is a long-time player of the game, and you can read back in the game comments to confirm that. Neither this video or the wiki are considered official information, but I don't really mind people trying to promote the game.

i wish in this game you could make your self associate with the mafia and you can get money and a headstart and extra support but the consequence would be like the scandels and extra stress and the usual stuff like that this game is still awesome without that option i rly like this game.
That’s not a bad idea. I will probably implement something like this in some form or another, though it may be a part of The Lobby or maybe another game entirely that also interfaces with Clout.
I'd prefer not to add a per-user filter as you can already see your cronies' bills, meaning you'd only ever really be searching for a specific person to attack their bills. Not really something I want to encourage. The game doesn't actually track how old a bill is, but the main bill list is effectively sorted by age (actually sorted by order of introduction). Since that isn't tracked, I unfortunately can't add that second suggestion.

I love this game I like how it is actually realistic and humerous in the same time I have never seen a game like this and i have always hoped for a game like this 5/5 possibly one of my favorite games i have ever played
It means you unlocked an achievement. Look at yourself (you can click your name on the status page, or most anywhere else it appears to do this), then mouse over the achievement to see why you got it.

I like the idea of cryptic messages. Some of the other games i played are all introducing this kind of cryptic/riddle puzzles to get infomation or unlock more things. The idea of depending on other players is also great. If i get one of those messages i'll get crackin' ASAP :D

If still no success after many tries, phone your ISP to change your IP number for you. This only works if you have a dynamic IP though. If you do not have a router, but only the modem, some modems may or may not have configuration menus, probably not. To find out if they do, google information about the modem(model etc) to see if it has a menu and what is its IP and standard password for admin. They probably don't, though. Then either input: "ipconfig /release" on console and connect/disconnect the modem cable from your computer, if it doesnt change your IP just shut the modem down for 5 mins or so and try again. In the worst case scenario, again, just phone your ISP and ask for them to change your IP.
It seems these issues people were having were sorted out. There was a combination of two things going on: some people were getting IP banned by a security setting in the server's firewall for using certain chat characters, and other people were failing to connect entirely due to major network outages in the US.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This one is for the players: If you use a router just go to it's menu > status(probably) and click something like DHCP Release. your modem may or may not assign you a new IP address. If not, repeat. If still no success, shut down modem and wait about 5 minutes, then repeat until IP changed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I honestly never experienced something like that and it could originate from your host possibly blocking connections from certain IPS for a reason. When i changed my IP yesterday everything was solved.
I can't really identify what hops are my ISP's or not on my tracert because my ISP uses some really outdated domains from companies they bought in the past together with some domains where letters are probably random.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I commented the four hours thing right before you answered that comment. Or before i got the page updated. I ran a tracert and you're right, it stops somewhere. Im going to try some stuff.
Again: the game is up, running fine, and hundreds of people have been playing over the time period you have described. You are experiencing a network communications error that has nothing to do with my game or anything I can affect.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Alright so you're either changing something or the host f*cked with you again. Firstly the chat for party was returning a 404 error when you try to send something while global chat worked fine. Then right after the chat came back to place, everything seems to have went down and the game is returning a time-out for over 2 hours right now.
um.... I have experienced none of this and have been modifying/testing the game over that entire time period. This won't produce the errors you're talking about, though. Open up a console and do a tracert to cabincalendar.info. You will most likely find that there is a major network problem between you and the game server. I cannot do anything about this.

So I'm wondering, when do elections take place and will the Speaker of the House be chosen then? We'll run out of space soon at the rate we're getting new candidates.
End of the month. I will likely be increasing nomination requirements for the next month, though this month's elections also ran about a week longer than intended as there was no nominated candidate by the end of last month. This will be the first time the speaker election actually happens at EOM.

I don't usually comment but I'm loving this game its interesting feels smart and there are constant updates this developer is hard at work other than a feel that there should be more communication required between party and player even considering the new mailing system i have no complaints

what i am missing is an option of a timed coalition between parties which the congressians having to stick to (while of cause the whole party has to cast a vote over the coalition prior to that). Boni or mali are adjusted depending on whom is the coalition partner is. but perhaps im just thinking too much in the german system ^^
(+ it's way too much fun discussing with the game designer about features as a former game tester bye profession ("this is not a bug this is a design decicion!!!" xD) be sure im gonna give you a hugeeeeee bug report once i finde one xD)
Well, your english is definitely better than my german. I'm not sure there's an equivalent to what you're talking about in the American federal legislature. It's not unusual for congresspersons to vote outside of party lines, and it's pretty much unheard of for any sort of major disciplinary action to occur as a result. Thanks for the feedback and support!

(sorry i just did it in german this time ^^ a rough translation although the above should be more precise ^^
Far from it. You get paid weekly (EOD Monday). You can see the current weekly salary on the world page. You can also do public speaking appearances once you get to CT2, and you can eventually use Poison Pill to make money as well. Larceny (stealing from other players) becomes available under skullduggery once you get to CT2, and I'll be finishing the implementation of blackmailing people using discovered scandals pretty soon.

It's like 10 billions of bills active at the moment. It's to much, it used to be not that much. Not that much appear to me as a funner option than lots and lots of. I have no idea how to deal with this issue though. Maybe deacresing the profitability of acting randomly and selfishly and increasing the importance and significance of a bill would help. I don't know. What I say doesn't sound smart to me. I just say it seems slightly less awesome than it used to seem and increasing the overall awesomness output would be greatly appreciated by me and everyone else concerned by the matter.
The game is experiencing some odd and temporary gameplay-related issues due to a large number of new players that are coming in due to a high-volume ad that Kongregate is running for the game on this site. The volume of players from this is beginning to diminish somewhat, and you will see a corresponding decrease in the unwanted behaviors you list as there are definite downsides to them already implemented. Also, for reference, the game used to usually have about 150-200 bills in congress, and currently is ranging around 300-350. I will be implementing a filter to allow you to see less bills in the bill view. Not sure if that's part of your particular issue with the current game state.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i see what you want to do there, but even in real life parties team up and splitt up not always in the same manner. i just felt like your putting down a great option for advanced gameplay in favor of a not so much realism ;)
I'm not really sure what you mean. You can act however you choose on any bills, for any reason you might want to do so. Doing so will cost you constituent support or not based on the stated views of your chosen party (which your constituents wish for you to follow). I'm not really sure what I'm limiting (except for people's ability to completely ignore their party, which would be kinda dumb). There are also no limits on what parties your cronies are from, and you can send associate requests to anyone.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i think you should introduce somethign about a party teaming up system. like you are only timed "couppled" with another party and acting agaisnt certain of the partners bills is less effective or costing you some support. just a system that pushes the partys themself to stick theyr head together but don't couple certain partys toegther forever.
Each bill in the game is specifically tuned to represent the real-life stances of each of the in-game political parties (with the assumption that the Socialist party represents a Liberal/Authoritarian party, rather than the US Socialist party which is pretty much the same as the Democratic party.)

That doesn't take away the need for tracking bills. I DO consider the contents of the bill I support, the random part is when there are several identical bills by different players. Since this game is designed to be played just a couple of times a day it will take time to get familiar with the names of party members, and there needs to be a way other than forcing players to memorize or write down a handful of names. Using a notepad/excel should be an optional choice for eager players not a mandatory.
Even if I remember the names, whenever I want to check whether a bill needs further support I have to ctrl+f all the time. Again, if I have supported several same bills by different players and one gets passed, I need to ctrl+f to find out which one it was.
I don't see why you're trying NOT to do something about it. It's not like the inconvenience is part of the fun, is it?
I don't think anyone is writing down bill stuff in notepad/excel to get back to it.... but I guess I could be wrong. I have plans to implement a way to filter the bill list at some point, and I suppose I'll add a "bills I have acted on option" for those that want it. This just isn't a common enough complaint for me to add all the bills you've acted on to "my bills", which would potentially severely clutter that list for people that don't want that to happen.

Cabe Bedlam is my BROTHER. We connect from the same IP because we live in the same house. IDK why he had the same traits, we were in the same party so we could work together.
Well, considering how amazingly suspicious your characters look, I'm going to require validation of this. Let me know via PM when a good time for both you and your brother is, and we can do a simple test to ensure you are actually 2 different people.
