it would nice if you add "attack country" option in foreign relation with the national soldier to expand the nation :)
You can declare war. Almost nobody does it though because it's really just pretty wasteful. I think there's some kind of philosophical point in there somewhere.

Please, show energy cost when you are choosing actions, because I have passed out three times in the course of two hours due to not knowing the cost.
It's always the same. 5 energy per action, with the exception of rather high-level abilities you likely won't have until CT3. Unless you mean drugs: in which case check the help files for a general idea. Much like in real life: you don't always know how your choices will affect you in Clout.

The gamme does not appear to be working for me. I am getting the following error message:
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/cabinca/public_html/clout/newacct.php on line 28
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/cabinca/public_html/clout/newacct.php:28) in /home/cabinca/public_html/clout/newacct.php on line 158
Reload the page and things should be fine. Sometimes communication with Kongregate gets cut/interrupted and you'll start getting weird errors. Just sort of the nature of the internet, unfortunately.

Passed bills are counted as in congress until they go into effect(at the end of the day unless they get vetoed or have a budget accounting commitee on them). Failed bills are counted as in congress until the end of the day.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
No, this would be the second. I only had one other, and it was on a bill that had passed that day. I worded the original comment poorly. I know I had only one other because I looked at "Bills I've acted on" and only one had a research committee on it.

"Due to budgetary restrictions, each congressperson can now only commission a maximum of two simultaneous research committees." I only have one, currently. This would be my second, counting the one on a bill that has already passed. Bug?

About confession: The CSP damage would be less (about 90-70%), not 0. And if you would confess another scandal later, it would trigger the severe CSP loss. And if you have, let´s say... 100 scandals, releasing them all at once would kill your CSP completely. And not being able to do any more scandal without risking potentially lethal csp damage is a serious drawback.
Not every scandal should be confessable. Assaults, larcency and assassination would have to be removed the old way.(Well, imagine someone confessing such things...)
So then why would anyone do it? Also, confessing to skullduggery would have to kill your character. Investigations/scandals aren't proof. Confessions might not be proof, but they can get you put in prison.
I actually started it as a test integration with facebook's app API. More as a joke than anything. I never really expected it to go anywhere. I got a little attention by posting about it on reddit, which encouraged me to develop it further.

Your a really creative and unique dev. I would never expect a game like this. When i first played this game(1-2 years ago) it seemed really unique. Go surf the internet for political games(that r free and are mmo) and you will find nothing like this. I wonder where u got these ideas from anyway :P
Congress, basically. The core of the game has always been about simulating the actual political process. All abilities and committees are modeled off of real-world processes and events.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like Noly's idea. Maybe if another scandal of that type is found and released, you suffer 5-10X the CSP damage because you weren't entirely honest.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Looking at the suggestion of a confession option... I could imagine a confession option(less csp damage), with the possibility to reveal an unlimited amount of scandals at once. But if you get caught in another scandal after that, then you get a severe CSP loss.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Although I haven't been playing this game for quite some time ago, I just came by to say this is one of the best games I've ever experienced. Nice to see the dev's still active in the comments. :D
So under your plan there would be literally no reason whatsoever to not repeatedly confess to scandals? You're talking about it always being better to confess than have them found out. That doesn't really open up any interesting gameplay opportunities and cheapens PvP in the game. I'm pretty sure coverups would get significantly more rare as well. You're basically just asking for something that makes the game easier.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
YESSSSS. I want a confession option. And you can pick the type of scandal from a drop-down menu. Perhaps the CSP hit is less because you're being a more forthcoming.
This has been suggested before, but without any real way to work it into the game in a realistic fashion. Especially since investigations don't really uncover proof of anything, so if anything they'd tend to be less damaging than a confession.

*cricket, cricket, cricket, cricket...* Ah, this must be Cold War 2.0, in which everybody has a big red button to press the moment the next comment comes around. Oops.

i wasent multiboxing but you locked me out my brother made an aconunt with my kongrate user name so i made him hit the suiside butten but it was to late you had luck me out i loved this game
Well, he made another character. Unless you want to do a manual confirmation test that you and your brother are separate people, you can only have one character per IP address. This manual test cannot be gamed, so if you're lying: don't bother wasting my time.

As long as you don´t have any serious or normal scandal(including skeletons in your closet) and you don´t have several hundreds of the cigar/alcohol scandals, you shouldn´t feel endangered.

Putting stuff in the offshore would skew my high score results, In a way that works for me, just like easy mode in games, only cheating yourself.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I did not have anything in my offshore when I died, and I would be more than happy to never put equipment in my offshore if it meant that I could Go into the negative traits, it could be more of a challenge for me :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well I would be more than happy to end up in the negative for traits, also I don't think it would be too bad if I end up with -1 in traits.
You can always view your chance of reelection on the main subterfuge page, and can get a more specific idea of your constituent support via the status page. Permadeath has always been a part of Clout.
The cooldown is the same as the duration. There is an additional stipulation that you can't play a CC on a bill if you were one of the last two people to CC that bill. It's not a cooldown.

This game actually makes politics effing INTERESTING for once.
Even though you're still spouting nonsense in the game, it's cool to experience it in third person.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Does a Research Committee give Clout to the person who introduced the committee onto the bill, after the bill passes?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Superdupercat
You'd miss out on the Bonus you get upon passing the bill (which is received at the end of the day), the Clout profit from passing that same bill, plus you'd have more bills, which would reduce your end of day stress loss. By far, finishing the bills is the best option, not abandoning them.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wait so, you could just go ahead and accept all the campaign contributions, but don't actually support the bills without repercussions?
