Wowie! Came back after more than a month to a completely new game! It looks great, and while I'm still getting a grip on the new format, I'm impressed so far.

To everyone having trouble finding upgrades: Go to the gear at the bottom right and click "Hide Purchased Upgrades." This gets rid of most of the clutter

The new UI is much more confusing and difficult to use. This was my go-to idle game, but now it's not nearly as smooth to play. 5/5 --> 2/5.

That wasn't an upgrade, it was an overhaul, new layout takes a few seconds to get use too, but the new stuff is certaintly worth the few seconds you need to get aquainted.

Already understanding that Realm Grinder needed to ditch the new UI unlike AdCap...
Surprisingly I didn't find the new UI that bad after taking a look around.
I'd recommend that there should be a font change to the original where it's possible, and also one to be able change the background to something like the old version, with a plain screen and a treasure chest. Research should have its own section, like Challenges did, so you could see the stuff there right away. (I really love this change in particular)

I think that you would be best off providing a way to turn the interface back to the previous layout. As much as this one looks nicer at first glance, the older one has a nostalgic value and a muscle memory aspect to it. I am somewhat disappointed in this update.

really started to get into this game and got to r6 but the new ui is too confusing. even when you get over that its just a lot slower to upgrade i really don't want to play anymore. very dissapointed.

I have over 100Qi/s and yet I have 0 coins....that seems a bit off. Also my Gem earnings are all off as well. I love the game, but there are a lot of kinks to work out with this new release.

OK. After the initial shock, I gave another chance a few hours later. Conclusion? I'm with those who will check back later, if it is just a nightmare and we can wake up from. Sorry...

Darkmage, there always were 8 faction coins... What reincarnation are you? You may have just unlocked them fill-time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
which faction is best im in the hundred quadrillions for gems now and I haven't figured out which will help me produce faster have druid titan and faceless factions added to normal 6 right now
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What faction coins are which? I know of the old six, they were easy enough to tell apart then, and now there are 8. i'm assuming drow and dwarven, but it's still not easy to tell

I'm reserving judgment on most of the stuff with the new interface until I'm used to it, but it'd be really helpful to have the 'shift' and 'ctrl' options for purchase back. I know there's an option to toggle, but if I'm guying 1 here, 100 there, 10 there, it's a pain to have to change the default. Also, since the upgrade I'm having trouble with the screen jumping to the bottom without me scrolling or even touching the mouse. It's making gameplay effectively impossible. This isn't happening with any other Kongregate games, and it never happened before with this one. I'm bummed because I was close to a challenge, but I'm gonna have to take a few days off from playing until you get that sorted.

i love everything in this update, except for the upgrades screen. It was definitely easier to upgrade everything before when all the available upgrades were next to each other, not spread out by category. fine update imo

This new update is about to bring tears to my eyes. I have been playing Realm Grinder since around the time it came out. I have put countless hundreds of hours into it. This was the best idle game on the internet in my eyes and most likely in thousands of other peoples eyes. The UI was perfect for it and everything was simple to do, easy to navigate and easy to learn. This new update has ruined everything that made Realm Grinder great and has replaced it with a low resolution RPG game theme and has changed the looks of most of the things on it. If you agree that this new update is bad please message the devs and ask them to please bring back the old Realm Grinder that we all know and love. Together we can make Realm Grinder great again!

hmm...ok. if i am in the royal exchange menu i cannot change 1x, 10x, 100x, max. first i have to leave the menu to change it. come on guys, did you even test this game?

Still have to check out most new features, but my first impression is not good. Kudos on the daring overhaul, but the graphics are completely unnecessary i think. They make my game lag, and i can't turn them off? The new icons for everything are confusing, and the colours could be a lot brighter. I was also hoping for a bigger screen, but instead the font just got smaller... All this isn't optimal, i hope there will be some more patches to adress these things, and seeing the other comments here, i'm not the only one.

Good attempt. Definitely some pros: buy all upgrades and buy 1000. But the layout is confusing and requires more scrolling than the previous one.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Suggestion: can we have an option to get the old layout again? While the new one I'm sure would be nice for someone starting from the beginning, it kinda just makes it inconvenient for those who have been playing up to this point already. :/

After playing a little longer, I'm pretty much in the "That's it, game's dead to me" camp. This is no longer the fun game I used to play, it is now a monstrosity that's anything but fun to play. Sad, as it could have been so much better.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I am not a big fan of the new upgrade, but it is definitely usable if you mess around with the settings. Also, some of the things look a lot cooler, like the faction coins and other faction-related upgrades.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I also find it impossible to SCROLL through the different menus, so to find everything, i have to close one, the scroll bar just isn't working, so, like others said, while this idea was nice in CONCEPT, the execution just made everything needlessly complicated!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I mean.. i guess the new background looks GOOD, and it's not really lagging for me, but the menus being spread out is pretty dang confusing, so, maybe add the option to SWITCH between this and the old UI?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Now it looks like a generic stategy game for mobile...
Who cares about "graphic improvement" when you screw the entire game
I came here because of the minimalist and intuitive gameplay, now it's a complete mess
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I understand you need a UI change for the new gameplay but I would prefer old gameplay with no updates to this. This is honestly messy and not user-friendly, and the style doesn't fit the size of the window at all.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
idk maybe I'll check back in a few weeks to see if stuff is better but I don't really feel like playing it anymore. graphics are nice and all but wayyyy too much menu and everything is scattered all over.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be nice if the purchased upgrades vs total purchased upgrades was returned to the upgrade menu. Also if you could change the number of royal exchanges you can purchase independently from the buildings.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A big issue I have with the current way the new background is set up is that it looks too sparse, the buildings look too small and once you buy all the buildings and pick your factions the background doesn't change at all, leaving the impression of almost no actual growth.
