Estava flip out your laser canon for plasma cannon...more damage for less energy...also you might want to flip out the TB torp for a dogfighting torp....like type 1 stingers and flip out the thunderbolt prox for an EMP (it works well against the big ships)

With the Hydra I get to catch most kill bonuses which helps to keep its weapons loaded for the battles. I've had to adapt to using more variety of weapons as I am not used to having more than a couple. ;-) While fighting the aliens it has been usual for me to even drive the ship backwards in order to find angle for the laser beam. I cannot use some other weapon that not the laser beam given the alien ships can make rounds against me faster than I can nail one down if I had some other weapon that was not instant.

Current status is over 5000 kills and over 1 million in the bank. Goal is to get to 6400 kills which gets me another promotion and a map that tells all the planets, blackholes and so forth.

Been playing with the Hydra Destroyer lately, switching away from the Warship. I have had fun with the Hydra coupled with these: Laser Beam, Thunder Bolt Torpedo, Energy Cell (2x), LASS Stealth System (2x), Thunder Bolt Mine, Thunder Bolt proximity, Vortex Bomb, Pulse Core Engine (1.x top speed), plus buying a hyperspace charge whenever I go out so I can go to some fun place faster.

Last year or so when i first started playing this game (played in a diff site) it was so fun and addicting. It still is but man... You know what i mean.

yes, you can get more ships, but it's just sorta hard. score more kills to unlock more ships, and raise your rank. this is a great game! i have like 300 kills by now!

Your Rank just shows your progress in the game I surpose. I am almost at 'Admiral of the Fleet' Rank, which I will get at 25,600 kills. But new Ranks are achieved at the following amount of kills.
25, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1,600, 3,200, 6,400, 12,800, 25,600
You will also unlock a new ship at each of those Ranks except for 6,400 and 25,600.

Alblaka, thanks! I have reached it. Admiral plus Hydra Destroyer. I am not sure about using it though, 'cause it comes with fewer regular slots like you said, kinda a super upgrade of the Nymph, losing the second proximity slot tho'. It looks fun to use it and switch weapons from my trusted thunder bolt torpedoes tho'.

to do a mission you have to click on it then leave the station and the mission will start. and yes, multiplayer was awesome...

3201 Kills is the Hydra/Enforcer, kinda a Ultra-Nymph... 6401 is the special spacemap and on 12801 you get ACW or Elite

crash2243, I now have exactly 2575 kills and counting. ;-) I want to know what kind of promotion comes next after the 1600 kill-ish Commodore one. I am guessing that I am going to find it out perhaps at most 3200 kills. I also want to know what kind of ship is going to become available with that. I fare well in somewhat repetitive games I guess. ;-)
